EVERY major city they mentioned ALREADY has an extensive network of underground tunnels that move tens of thousands of people around the city EVERY day economically, efficiently, and in an environmentally responsible manner. They're called "subways" or "metros." Even Vegas already has something: A cute little monorail starter line that could easily be extended in both directions far more economically than any tunnel-based modality. Musk has proposed some interesting ideas but he REALLY has a penchant for pitching "solutions" to "problems" that have been solved for more than a century or that don't exist in the first place.
