I'd believe in UAPs/UFOs actually containing alien intelligence long before I'd believe that launching a chunky discount Harrier (with Zuni rocket pods on its wings) from the bow of a submerged submarine could ever end in anything but wailing, tears, and gnashing of teeth.

@cliffordschaffer5289 Here's the real issue. You keep dismissing the most likely explanations because you want the unproven and least likely explanation to be true. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

@cliffordschaffer5289 Fine. These sightings were in some of the busiest airspace in the world along the eastern seaboard of the USA. There are half a dozen military airfields within a half hour's flight. There are several international airports and dozens of General Aviation fields with flight schools, news choppers, etc. There are limitless opportunities for pilots to spot and misidentify other aircraft. There are weird optical effects over open water. optic-distorting inversion layers and other atmospheric phenomena are not that rare. Add a layer of haze and a pilot who wants to believe that he saw something extraordinary instead of merely mundane and you get weird reports from merely human flyers about merely manmade objects, birds, or just random crap caught in the wind.

@cliffordschaffer5289 Your assumptions are that: 1) There's something for the Navy to know that isn't mundane, 2) The pilots actually reported something unusual, 3) The military would tell you exactly what their radars detected if, indeed, there was anything to detect in the first place, 4)That pilots are rigidly sane people who never buy into conspiracy theories or other nonsense and would never EVER pull silly pranks due to excruciating boredom, 5) WHICH picture clearly showed one WHAT? 6) What thing got how close to a fleet without being identified? The simplest explanation is usually the correct one. You clearly WANT this nonsense to be real, as have so many others, yet not a single piece of credible evidence has ever been produced. News channels constantly make mistakes because they suck at their jobs or even intentionally mislead to generate clicks/subscriptions/ad revenue yet this is the ONE time they get it right? Dude, I'm a certificated instrument-rated pilot and if you even merely suspected the wacky shit many commercial pilots believe, you'd never set foot on an airliner again. Yet we're supposed to uncritically accept everything they say? Pass. Again, extraordinary claims require extraordinary EVIDENCE. The burden of proof is on YOU, not me.

If you want it to be anything but ordinary birds or some perfectly ordinary distant plane, drone, or what-not then YOU have to produce something better than babble. You have nothing.
