  1. Here's a weird idea. Maybe energy storage doesn't have to be centralized. Maybe it could be distributed. Imagine a future where the end users have battery banks on-site, scaled to their specific needs. They could charge up using solar energy during the day and slowly discharge at night. Excess generation would feed the grid during the period of peak commercial/industrial demand (daytime working hours). Alternatively, these battery banks could charge from the grid at night during off-peak hours and provide power during cloudy days. I know - It's science fiction! Oh, wait... I just described MY HOUSE as it exists TODAY.
