Comments by "Colorme Dubious" (@colormedubious4747) on "Why You Should Tip, Explained by Bartender" video.
EVERYTHING in this story is a big fat LIE. She earned over $700 in REPORTED tips in the same pay period, which is why her withholding was so high. She probably also earned a couple hundred in unreported cash tips (admittedly speculation, but anyone who's worked as a server knows how likely that is). Conveniently omitted is the fact that, if she didn't earn her tip minimum, the restaurant is required by state law to increase her hourly wage to $7.25 per hour, not merely $2.13, to make up the difference. There sure are a lot of hysterics in this comment section over a TikTokker who can't do basic math! Finally, she CHOSE to work there and she's free to quit and apply at the nearby Amazon fulfillment center.

@danlynch8282 It WAS on her paystub. The employer had to withhold taxes from her base pay to cover her tips. Now This "News" lied to get clicks. You're emotionally reacting to a propaganda piece. Calm down

@danlynch8282 I'm sorry, I can't talk to willfully ignorant people who can't use Google or do basic math.🤣🤣🤣

@angelaphinn9929 My point was that either you're tipping more or the meal is priced higher. Either way, you're paying the server's salary. When you buy clothing, you're also paying the salaries. When you pay for utilities, you're paying the salaries. Six of one, half a dozen of the other. By the way, the whinging chick in the video admitted in comments that she takes home about $42 per hour. Poor baby!

Wherever you go and whatever you buy in this life, you' ARE paying the staff's salaries! Either by paying $15 for a sandwich or by paying $10 with a $5 tip. Are you aware how businesses work?

@joshhuskins5363 She deleted it. Naturally. Others copied it before it vanished, though.
