  1. I once saw a homeless guy (so they said on the local news the next morning) get killed trying to cross a busy freeway at night. His corpse cartwheeled along the shoulder a few cars ahead of mine. That sort of thing sticks with you for a while. I can't even imagine how brutal it would be to be the driver that hit him and carry that guilt around for the rest of one's life.
