We HAVE an Autobahn. It's called the Dwight D. Eisenhower National System of Interstate and Defense Highways (or the "Interstate Highway System" for short). If you haven't heard of it, it's represented by thick blue lines in the Rand McNally Road Atlas. Your proposed speed limit suggests that this may be the first dashcam compilation that you've ever seen and that you've never driven a car. Most cars cannot sustain that kind of speed and most drivers cannot handle it.

@williamr1088 Regarding the drivers, we agree. Regarding the cars, however, we do not. Do you really think that the average contemporary 4-banger could sustain 186mph for several hours at a time without it becoming a problem? Consider what a few panic stops would do to one's brakes, or what a swerve would do to the tires, steering, or alignment. How about a simple pothole impact at that speed? Also, the vast majority of the country has these things called animals that often get in the way, especially at night. Could a Honda Civic survive a 186-mph impact with an armadillo, much less a deer? It's fine. I don't have to convince you that this idea is insane. YOU would have to convince lawmakers, multiple state DOTs, and the federal DOT that it ISN'T completely insane. Considering that the highest posted limit in the USA is currently 85mph, which is quite rare, I don't see that happening. If you're in that much of a hurry, buy a plane ticket.
