  1. Objection: It wasn't a piece of the Griswolds' gutter that broke the window and stereo. It was an ice "spear" that had formed in the gutter. The gutter merely acted as a catapult, trebuchet, or sling (choose your favorite medieval weapon for this analogy). There is no way that the damage can reasonably be attributed to the Griswolds because THE EVIDENCE MELTED. Case dismissed!
