  1. Do not blithely dismiss the so-called "political" criticism of Baldwin. His politics are entirely relevant to this terrible, completely avoidable incident. He is so rabidly anti-gun that I would be shocked to learn that he'd ever taken an NRA safety course, been to a range, or otherwise bothered to learn one single fact about firearms. Look at his comments after the incident calling for gun control (what we really need is Baldwin control). From the first time I ever handled a firearm at the ripe old age of 7, my father (as well as numerous range safety officers later in life) stressed the fact that EVERY weapon you pick up is loaded with live ammo no matter what you are told. EVERY weapon, EVERY time, until you clear it and double-check it your damned self! They also drilled in the adage that you never point a weapon at anything you don't intend to make holes in. You also keep your damned booger finger off the bang switch until it's time to make holes in things. I daresay that if "Killer" Baldwin hadn't been such a vitriolic ideologue, he might have actually bothered to learn a few things about the topic. Instead, he CHOSE to remain willfully ignorant. All the negligence on the set is certainly a contributing factor but the bottom line is simple and not contested by anyone: HE AIMED A FIREARM AT A HUMAN BEING AND PULLED THE TRIGGER and now an innocent woman is DEAD. HE should be held accountable!
