@Omnatten9 Yugoslavia was cobbled together with enemy peoples. All the other Yugoslavs were on the Axis and Nazi sides in WWI and WWII - except for the Macedonians and Montenegrins (which, by the way, weren't at war with the Serbs - and Macedonia had a brief war in 2001 with the Albanians in the north). Yugoslavia was essentially putting enemies into one country and it was therefore a mistake from the start. Those other hated Serbs before WWI, including the Bosnian Muslims who were ethnically cleansing the Bosnian Serbs as part of the Schutzkorps.

This happened in the early 1800's. Serbs were still in the area. It is true that many Serbs migrated out of this region in the late 1600's when the Ottomans came, but many were still around the outskirts. Albanians only started migrating to the area well after the Turks. Serbs had lived there long before. But the Turks and Roma were the majority, not Albanians. Albanians were allies of the Turks there and Serbs from around the area fought the Turks. Albanians and Turks were known for dismantling the Serbian churches, which were built before the Turks, and then the Albanians came, and melting down the lead roofs for their bullets, while the Albanians used the Serbian churches' bricks and stones for their shops.

Skenderberg was on man who was close to the Serbian leadership, and most Albanians eventually became Muslim, and were on the Turks side against Christians in the Balkans. Turks would sic the Albanians on Greek and Serb Christians.

Dalibor Yes, he was just one man who had some Greek or Serb heritage and who was close with the Serbs and Greeks. He wasn't typical for Albanians. Plus, wasn't it a Serb author who wrote about him and helped make him famous in the first place? If so, it shows that Serbs doing anything for Albanians comes back to harm them. Albanian KLA/terrorists used his name and it hyped them to commit atrocities against Serbs.

@Omnatten9 Yugoslavia was cobbled together with people who were on the opposite sides in WWI, so there was always hate between the peoples going back centuries, and that is why it was a total mistake. There was never any loyalty, so that's why the peoples fought against each other in WWII, including those in the army of Croat ethnicity giving info to the Nazis and sabotaging the equipment and laughing about it. Even the famous Bosnian writer (of Croat ethnicity) Ivo Andric wrote how Sarajevo was a city of hate in his "Letter from 1920".

Serbs are good at chess, and are tops in number of Chess Grandmasters per capita. Albs are only good at criminal activity.

The Royals of different nations, including enemy nations, have often intermarried. Doesn't change the fact that Serbs resisted many times during the occupation, and that Serbs also fought in Hungarian and Austrian armies against the Turks. That the original winged Hussars were likely Serbs.

Albanians weren't mentioned in the Balkans until the late 11th century where they were mercenaries of the Byzantines. South Slavs were living settled in the Peloponnese (southern Greece) when that term was used for them by the Byzantines in the early 7th century. There is no record of any huge migration - they were already living there and in large numbers throughout the Balkans. Serbs were also mentioned living along the Vardar River (Macedonia) in the 7th century. The Serbs and "South Slavs" were deported/moved by the Byzantines to Anatolia (modern day Turkey) by the Byzantine Emperors. The Byzantine Emperors brought in Armenians, other peoples from the Caucasus and Christians from the Middle East and Greek speakers from Italy to replace the "South Slavs". Most South Slavs are I Haplogroup which originated in the Balkans, along the Danube River during the Ice Ages. The I Haplogroup is the only Haplogroup to originate in Europe. Albanians are J Haplogroup which is from the Caucasus and Middle East.

@ronswift2967 Wrong. Albanians never fought a war on their own successfully: they were always used as proxies for others. It was Serbs who threw out the Ottomans on Serbian, Macedonian and northern Albanian territory. Serbs were in control of that land, which is why Austria stepped in the create Albania in 1912. Serbs and many South Slavs are native of the Balkan area, their genetic makeup shows that. Albanians have left most of the Byzantine, Greek and Serbian-built churches and monasteries in Albania in ruins. Albanians have shown little dedication to building monasteries and monasticism. How many functioning Monasteries do Albanians have today? And how long have they been continuously working. Albanians have shown far less proclivity towards monasticism than Serbs. Albanians systematically DESTROYED the churches and monasteries in Kosmet. Only because of the Italian and French and other UN soldiers were some of them saved. This also happened in WWI and WWII where the Italian soldiers had to save the monasteries from Albanians who wanted to destroy them.

Only an ignoramus like you wouldn't know that there are several sources about this battle, including Turkish.

Even when they fought on Ottomans side it was all related to the Ottomans forcing themselves into the Balkans and occupying the area. Many people have to cooperate to survive and others come to accept the occupying power.
