  1. Go back to the Caucasus Shqiptar. "Albanians" weren't mentioned continuously in the Balkans until the late 11th century, when they were brought in as mercenaries by the Byzantine Empire. Even Albania is full of Slavic toponyms. The South Slavs are native to the Balkans. They are I Haplogroup which originated in Europe along the Danube where Serbia is today around the Ice Ages.
