Wrong! The British backed the Ottomans and kept the Ottoman Empire going an extra 150 years. Famous British author and intellectual Rebecca West said this. And this despite atrocities and oppression against Serbs, Bulgarians and other Orthodox Christians in the area. The British were also incensed when Serbia was finally free of the Ottomans and wanted Serbia under other rulers, whether the Austrians or Russians, they didn't care. British just wanted Serbia oppressed. The British and Churchill also backed Tito and the communists even though Serbs didn't want communism. Churchill and the BBC would give Tito and the Partisans credit for what the Serbian loyalists forces accomplished against the Germans. Britain and US gave Tito huge amounts of weapons which he mainly used to attack Serbs and Serbia. Britain and US acted as Tito's air force when he attacked Serbia and they were bombing Serbian civilians and towns which were anti-communists to help him gain power. The UK also sent thousands of mercenaries to Croatia when that war started and they helped Croatia purge the ethnic Serb population. The censuses show it was Serbs who were ethnically cleansed the most in the wars, while the media-hyped "victims" gained percentage during the wars and now have the most ethnically purged countries (Croatia), cities and towns (Muslim-Croat Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina - Sarajevo is no longer multi ethnic as it is almost pure Bosnian Muslims, as are Tuzla, Zenica and many other Muslim controlled cities/towns), and Kosmet where the Albanians ethnically cleansed more than 250,000 non-Albanians and were aided by the British in the Pristina area.

A British weapons monitor observed Germany smuggling tanks and planes to a Croatian port in 1994. EU countries were violating the weapons embargo for the non-Serbs. "When we learnt that the German government was, against the terms of the UN embargo, importing Leopard tanks and aircraft in containers into Croatia, I was ordered by a French diplomat to cease monitoring the port of Ploce, in my area. @josefdvorak6811 Hitler was Austrian and both the Austrians and Germans worked against Serbs. The west financed and supported the Russian Revolution and the Bolshevik takeover. The west harbored the communists, such as Lenin and Trotsky. Germany sent Lenin into Russia in a guarded train. The Bolsheviks were mostly Jews and they murdered millions of Russians. The west put Russia under communism as an experiment or to weaken it. Communism came from western universities and Jews such as Karl Marx.

@JamesKerLindsay You leave out that Milosevic was reacting to attacks on Serbs. The Albanian KLA was kidnapping and attacking Serbs and the Serbian police. Albanians were causing problems before Milosevic and Serbs were forbidden to talk about it in Yugoslav times. Serbs were leaving Kosovo in the 1970s and early 1980s due to Albanian attacks and violence against them.

@user-irj1nxa3cof2z You leave out that Milosevic was reacting to violence against Serbs, that even western sources, such as The New York Times were reporting in the early 1980's on Albanians attacking Kosovo Serbs and driving them out. The Albanian population was growing. Serbia and the rest of Yugoslavia was sending a lot of money to Kosovo and the Albanians had control and were abusing this money before Milosevic curbed the autonomy. The Albanians were using this money to buy out Serbs from their homes and also to enrich themselves. Albanian workers were often sabotaging the power plants and other utilities to cause problems for Serbia. Serbian electrical engineers were always going to Kosovo to repair the damage. Albanians were also damaging the Trepca mines. Albanians were in a quiet war against Serbs for decades.

My comments about the UK sending thousands of mercenaries to fight on Croatia's side from the start of that war are being blocked or deleted. My comments on the British sending millions worth of military communications equipment to Slovenia, behind the Yugoslav government's back, just days before the wars started. These actions show the British were lying when they said they wanted Yugoslavia to stay together. They were only stating that to keep the Yugoslav government off-guard and so they could still manipulate it. The British and other key NATO powers also did this to hide their hand in the destruction of Yugoslavia. NATO countries were financing and smuggling weapons to the Croats and Bosnian Muslims despite the UN sanctions. Even a British weapons observer witnessed German Leopard tanks and airplanes coming to a Croatian port in 1994.

@malimate2660 The Yugoslav government was anti-Serb and Serbia. They even had the motto "Weak Serbia, Strong Yugoslavia". They carved autonomous areas out of Serbia to weaken it. They didn't carve Herzegovina out of BiH, they didn't give Slavonia or Dalmatia autonomy. They didn't carve Istria out of Slovenia and Croatia. And with Kosovo and Metohija they essentially erased Metohija to just Kosovo. They also too parts of southern Serbia and added them to Kosovo. These were pure Serbian areas and the people there of course never had a vote or say. Today these areas are being attacked by the Shqiptars. Yugoslav communists also moved Serbian industries to Slovenia, Croatia and BiH. Their excuse for that was "in case of attack from the East". So they used a possible attack by the USSR to take industry away from Serbia and move it to the other republics. Slovenia enriched itself as part of Yugoslavia and so did Croatia. Both were poor before they joined up with Serbs in the first Yugoslavia. Croatia and Slovenia also got extra land from Yugoslavia. Dalmatia was not controlled by Croats at end of WWI, but by Serbs, and a small part by Italians. Dalmatia and Slavonia were never a part of and independent Croatia before WWI. Under Hungarian rule they were connected for administration purposes.

@user-irj1nxa3cof2z Most South Slavs, including Serbs, are I Haplogroup. I is the only Haplogroup to originate in Europe. It originated at the end of the Ice Ages along the Danube where Serbia is today. I2a is indigenous to the Balkans. The other Slavs are predominately R1a.

@user-irj1nxa3cof2z Slavs were called Veneti in ancient times and the Adriatic Veneti lived along the Adriatic coast and other parts of the Balkans - Herodotus (c. 484–425 BC) at one point mentions the Veneti of the Adriatic (Histories V.9) and at another refers in passing to the "Eneti in Illyria" (Histories I.196) whose supposed marriage customs, he claims, mirrored those of the Babylonians. This led early scholars to seek to link the Veneti with the Illyrians. Their Illyrian origin is further strengthened by their close relationship with the inhabitants of the coastal regions of the Adriatic. Karl Pauli, a late 19th-century expert on the Venetic language, declared that the language was more closely related to that of the Illyrians than to any other language, even though knowledge of Venetic is limited to personal names, nouns, and verbs used in dedicatory formulae.

@user-irj1nxa3cof2z No because Albanians are from the Caucasus and were brought to the Balkans by the Byzantines as mercenaries. "Albanian" isn't even their own name for themselves but what others called them after they were brought to the area. They call themselves Shqiptar. Albanians are J Haplogroup which originates in the Caucasus and Middle East. Albanian language is similar to the Caucasus language in grammar, syntax and sounds. Sounds in the Albanian language are very uncommon in Europe but are frequent in the Caucasus languages. Albanians have similar words to the Chechens.

@user-irj1nxa3cof2z Those in the area were not Shqiptars. Albania is full of Slavic toponyms. Berat was called Belgrade before the Shqiptars came.

@kayboo5835 There was never a contemporary record of any enormous migration to the Balkans in the 6th and 7th century. The (South) Slavs were already living settled all over the Balkans in large numbers when that term was used for them. The Byzantines even prided themselves on getting the Slavs and the Antes (relatives to the Slavs) to war against each other. So the Byzantines were using a "divide and conquer" method against the peoples who were already there as a way to weaken them. The Byzantines (Constans II) were already mass deporting "Slavs" from the Peloponnese (southern Greece) in the early 7th century. "Slavs" were already living settled in large numbers in the Peloponnese in the early 7th century, and there was never any mention of Slavs migrating there in the first place. So they were a people who had lived there, or near there for a long time.

@kayboo5835 The genetic landscape was changed by the Byzantines who were making huge population transfers into the Balkans for their Themes. Byzantines brought people from the Caucasus (many Armenians), people from the Middle East and Greek speakers from Italy. This is how the J Haplogroup got to the Balkans. They had success getting the "Slavs" out of Greece and replaced by Armenians, Syrians and other Caucasian, Middle East and Italian peoples, but weren't as successful in "Thrace" and other parts of the Balkans because the Slavs were too numerous.

Srebrenica was a Bosnian Muslim military base which carried out a scorched-earth policy against the Serbs. Srebrenica's commander, Naser Oric, was even showing video tapes that he and the 28th Brigade took of their attacks on the Serbian villages all around - they destroyed scores of Serbian villages in 1992 alone, to 2 western reports that went to his home in the middle of the war. They witnessed scenes of Serbs fleeing for their lives, Serb homes burning, and scene after scene after scene of dead and mutilated Serbs, including the headless bodies of Serbian men piled in a "pathetic heap". Naser Oric was grinning and bragging and even described how they killed the Serbs - with explosives in one village, with "cold weapons" in another, and when scene with no visible bodies came up, Oric hastily added "We killed 114 Serbs there" as if he was embarrassed that there were no dead Serbs there. Srebrenica was an arranged fall with the army and men ordered off their positions and to go to Tuzla. This happened when Serbs weren't even there and weren't even coming. The army had a weeks' trek through Serbian controlled territory and through mined territory. Many lost their lives from running battles and mines on the way to Tuzla, but the vast majority made it. They are counting their army deaths from the entire war and are even adding in those who were never in Srebrenica, such as those from Zepa, another Bosnian Muslim military base for their Srebrenica propaganda. This is why the Bosnian Muslims won't show a single authentic autopsy reports and even a judge at the ICTY admitted they had no autopsy reports. The autopsy reports and military records would destroyed the much hyped propaganda. Tudjman sent death squads to Vukovar to start to kill Serbs even before the war official started. Tomislav Mercep and the Croatian police were abducting, torturing and killing Vukovar Serbs and their bodies were washing up on the riverbanks. This was happening in Osijek too with Branimir Glavas and his men. I have not seen any report on Croatian civilians bodies on the riverbanks, only Serbs and one Muslim who would have been killed by the same ones killing Serbs.

@JamesKerLindsay He admitted that countries which bought from Serbia were then reselling them to Ukraine. Serbia didn't sell directly to Ukraine, as most all the other countries in the area are doing, including giving Ukraine fighter jets.
