Cuz of woke-ism.

They have thin voices and don't sing that good live.

Pop and rock music of the early to mid eighties was very melodic and emotive and sung with emotion and sincerity. So many good songs - one after the other - especially by the British musicians. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Uxc9eFcZyM
2
Pop music is devolving for decades now.
2
His name looks Spanish not Italian. Ariana Grande is an illuminati princess. She mumbles when she sings - she can't even enunciate properly. Justin Bieber is a manufactured pop star.
2
I think because pop music is so weak now and rap doesn't really require a decent/good melody for its format - it just has to have clever/catchy rhymes with attitude coming through the rapper's speaking tone.
1
No. People just miss really good melodic pop by musicians who knew what they were doing and sang with feeling/passion. And there were many songs of equal or greater to this in the early to mid 80's: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-zP66eSLto

And country is often referencing pop music and pop or rock artists of old, and/or borrowing their music. Like there's a country song now referencing John Mellencamp song "Jack and Diane" and another referencing Bruce Springsteen, and another that is borrowing from Fleetwood Mac music.
1
They think of their faces/appearance when they listen to the music.

I read something once about how it sounds close to '42' and "42 is the 'Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything"'in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy books. It was computed by Deep Thought, the second greatest computer ever.[1] The descendants of Deep Thought's creators are upset by the numeric nature of the answer, not understanding what to do with it or what to tell the people who had commissioned the 7.5-million year project." "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" was some BBC radio science fiction comedy show, and "Thoughty2" apparently was a big fan of that, and related to that is how he came up with his nick.

@cecfarns6788 I'm not a fan of his but I like his song "Cover me" the best, while I do not like "Born in the USA" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkaSxmvZnGs

That's not true. A lot of early rock n roll was white people covering black singers' music. And blacks were making some good music up until about 2000. Blacks have had superb musicians and vocalists and have made some great songs, back when they sang with true emotions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojCikI9npJQ

Back a few decades ago, there were many talented musicians in pop/rock and their songs were at the top of the charts and well played on radio. For example, Phil Collins: drummer, singer, composer, songwriter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Y6qc-ZaqZ4

"Like, does the Ferrari have its hands up this guy's body?" No, but it does cushion and vibrate under his bum.
1
He means the Swede, Max Martin, who writes about 1/2 the pop songs heard these days: https://youtu.be/oVME_l4IwII?t=7m45s

There's a lot of Black music stations on the radio, but both Black and White music has deteriorated since 2000 or so, though occasionally there is a good song. Back in the 1980s Blacks and Whites had hit after hit in regards to pop and rock music.
1
@QuatMan Ed Sheeran is only long after music died. Some White artists in the 1980s and before were really good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hn-enjcgV1o
1
You sound like the writers of this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MFt08wEUOQ
1
She's pretty but has an annoying voice and has illuminati/satanic symbolism in her videos.
1
In the mid-1980's when pop was arguably at its peak, there were ample songs which sounded as good as this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-zP66eSLto
1
There were popular and talented musicians and music groups in the early and mid-eighties - and markedly a lot were coming from his country the UK. Genuinely talented musicians who composed and wrote their own music had several hits on the pop music charts.
1
Madonna's early songs were more melodic and catchy than Lady Gaga's and Madonna had more moodiness/emotion in her voice. Lady Gaga has borrowed from some of Madonna's songs.
1
the 70's had some very melodic music and plenty of songs had good lyrics and there were great musicians too. Nothing today, for example, is as well crafted nor as melodic as a song like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojCikI9npJQ
1
@BreathingGuy20 There was good pop music through 1985. I think Michael Jackson's brother Jermaine had a better song and style of singing than Michael (without all the weird vocalizations like "hiccups" that Michael did): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqZhH9yzQH0
1
No the Anglos were very good musicians for pop and rock. The British musicians and bands really came to the fore in the early and mid 1980's, while U.S. white men of the 70's had some of the most melodic music. And unlike classical music it had good driving beats and rhythms and personal and emotive singing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ixRWvrkUHo
1
Brits were kings of pop/rock in the 1980's. This is beautiful https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Uxc9eFcZyM Plus their voices could be more connected with everyday people than opera voices which sound UNNATURAL and are over theatrical.
1
This is a video about MODERN music - he is talking about the decline of radio-friendly music and the like. Classical music is music of the PAST. Nowadays it has to be subsidized because there isn't much interest in it. But hey, if you want to hear some modern composed classic music then become a fan of this young girl: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvECZ_ZXGqs

Yeah, well what language are we speaking in sonny boy? That's right - English. The English were busy sailing across the ocean and colonizing land - that's probably why English is now the dominant/international language. And where are the German, Polish, French, Czech, or Russian composers today? Why don't you put on your leotard and tutu and dance to this, mister angry ballerina? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxHkLdQy5f0

U.S. defeated Spain easily. You are a has-been power and Spanish lands are poorer and less innovative than English-speaking countries.

I found this from "Famous Birthdays" (and his birthday is July 15): His real name is Arran Lomas. He was born and raised in Lancashire, England. Associated With His channel name of Thoughty2 derives from Douglas Adams' novel The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, in which Adams' wrote that the meaning of life is the number 42.

You are not missing anything with the radio - except annoying songs and voices. However there are some good TV shows - many shows about true crimes and how they were/are solved. You can learn about forensic techniques such as superglue fuming which is a way to get fingerprints off of things they couldn't before - such as clothing.
1
Pop music seemed to decline in the middle of 1986, but black radio still had good new songs through 2000.
1
The British musicians and bands of the first half of the 80's had a fuller, richer sound and were more talented musicians than the Beatles. I am surprised he doesn't mention any of them.
1
But popular/radio music used to be very good a few decades ago. It was more melodic and talented musicians were making their own songs.
1
@devilsoffspring5519 But even at an older age you can newly discover music from the past and be overtaken by it. For example, I only discovered a lot of black "old school" music as an adult and realized it is so much better than what has come out in the past 15 years or so. And back in the early to mid-eighties there were so many talented British bands and musicians and there were dozens of good songs per year - ones which still sound great today despite being out of date. For instance, songs of this quality/feeling/creativity/musicianship were practically the norm back then : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzGnX-MbYE4
1
No, there was a lot of good pop music from the first several years of the 1980's - really talented musicians who wrote melodic music, and sang with emotion, plus many songs had a great beat and rhythm. None of that now that I've heard.
1
That song was written by Max Martin, the Swede, and a team of "Persian" men. It's mostly men writing her slutty songs.
1
Rock and country also were more melodic and had better crafted songs in the '70s and '80s than today.
1
Well some workplaces and stores have the radio playing in the background, and if you are the passenger in the car of someone playing the music of Justin Bieber then you'll hear him. So some people are forced to listen in certain situations.
1
Did Max Martin, the Swede guy he mentions here, write the songs for Britney's album?
1
I looked it up and it was made by a team of British and Swedish writers and producers. It was first offered to Kylie Minogue but she rejected it.
1
If a song has a really good melody it's usually liked on first listen - even the first several notes can make you like it. There were many of these in the 70's and 80's. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYnQsvtfEsQ
1
Nope, pop/radio music had some good eras with quality songs, musicians/bands, and there were at least a couple great songs per month up until around 1987. His own country, Great Britain, was chock full of great musicians/bands in the early and mid-1980's. Sting, Howard Jones, Duran Duran, Phil Collins, and more.
1
Nowadays both black and white music is lacking. Whites were making good pop music regularly until 1986/1987. Black music was good until 2001, then something happened to it as well. Something about the industry, the illuminati and/or lack of discipline of kids to learn music and their instruments really well and practice all the time as they did in the past.
1
Uptown Funk copied from a mid-80's song called "Jungle Love" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2FPQvwhSDY
1
Even if it was for 13 year olds, it was made by musicians who knew how to craft and sing quality melodic songs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3j2NYZ8FKs
1
Actually a lot of "boy bands" that have been around in recent decades are just singers - they don't play instruments. At least all the Beatles members were musicians as well, and they were able to write some of their own songs.
1
Wasn't that Vaudeville times?
1
It would be nice if there was more instrumental music on the radio since pop and country are mostly lame and annoying. But I guess there's no money in playing pure or almost pure instrumental music.
1
Some of her songs were plagiarism though.
1
In the past it was musicians and bands themselves who were composing, writing, playing and singing their own songs. Now it is based on looks and style and Swedish producers are making the songs for U.S. pop tarts. And there is no genuine emotion or passion in the singing or music.
1
He should have used the Brit artists and bands from the early to mid 80's as an example. They definitely were more talented and made MUCH MUCH more melodic and emotive music and better crafted songs than those making pop/rock music today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ixRWvrkUHo
