  1. hyper competitiveness is a huge problem in global capitalism, everyone is competeting for an ever fleeting number of job positions to get out of poverty and it's making people sick while a small groups of elites get richer, it's disgusting and I hope this system crumbles in my lifetime

  2. the parents are this way because the system of global capitalism encourages hyper competitiveness amongst the general public over the scraps of the ultra rich; everyone is fighting for a few school and work positions that are already deminishing due to outsourcing, immigration and AI so it's going to get worse. These parents don't want their kids living a life of poverty so they go to extremes to push them up the ladder
