not really it's apathy that stops people from acting and modernity breeds an apathetic mindset. Compare to say, Palestine where the average person is religious and has a purpose to fight, it's not the religion in itself it's "the purpose" it provides

@ the Palestinian issue is an ethnic conflict where ethnic Jews are expanding their borders for their tribe, it's more then religion

America has always been a nation built on merchantilism and banking cartels, it's nothing new, we are just seeing the end results of what happens to such a nation when the resources have been totally monopolized. Remember, the founds were merchants, bankers, lenders and plantation owners themselves
