for some people they need to always be busy so they never stop to reflect on their trauma and inner struggles, it's sad, not much different then an addict who self-medicates
25
It's not a buzzkill to talk about your issues, physically or emotionally, it makes a person more relatable. ftr I have had autoimmune issues too (since I was a kid), it doesn't really get resolved it can just be managed, if you're lucky you can go into remission, but yeah there''s a lot of us out there and we know the struggle stay strong
14
it's true, so many of us come from homes where a parent regretted having kids and it sent the message
6
@Planeet-Long very few people survive as a couple in their 20's to even experience such milestones
5
Brazil, South Korea and the US have the highest cosmetic surgery rates per populous
4
@vinipcplayer 55 being middle age implies average lifespan is 110 lol
4
yeah my dad had your mentality, had kids due to FOMO and me and my brother grew up in a broken home. People need to focus on having a real bond with a person not just breeding for the sake of breeding
3
@ why do you assume people are not taking something seriously just because it hasn't happened yet? You can't force the right person into your life, much of this is pure luck
3
@yousufleads the harder you work the less time and energy there is to raise children
3
@ >life should just be an endless loop of struggle where you never rest and enjoy anything and you want to bring children into this?
3
@derek4412 going out to drink is very expensive now a days and that is typically where most young people would drink. The days of buying cheap beer and hanging outside with your friends is over, ppl don't really do that anymore for various reasons
2
@dixonhill1108 birth rate is plummeting in poor countries too except for a few places in Africa and Middle East
2
@harrisonmccoll1093 people who have kids are selfish too, you are bringing life into this world for your own benefit
2
FOMO and social pressure leads to a lot of impulsive life ruination decisions
2
another to include is not wanting to repeat childhood trauma by bringing kids into an unstable home with parents who hate eachother and often their own kids as well
2
@edheldude this is not true, you are assuming kids who have religous/conservative parents will automatically adopt their beliefs which has been proven false
2
Nice to see somebody get it on relationships, a real bond is comfy not exciting. Anyone telling you to be something other then yourself to attract someone is driving you into drama and missery
1
You can't really fault people for this since our society doesn't teach us how to do anything but be a cog in the machine. Mental health, ethics, philosophy are not seen as important, it's just about how successful you are in terms of wealth, status and appearance
1
anyone can cheat if they want to it has nothing to do with looks and status, you can get hook-ups from online and hire s-workers. If you can't get a woman for hook-ups now a days it's just because you didn't put in the effort or your standards are too high
1
the only reason relationships seem this way at the start is because you are not being authentic and neither is your partner, this is what happens when you focus on keeping someone around rather then truly seeing the relationship for what it is
1
@deanrobb9220 higher income means little if the cost of living is still too high
1
birth control and women being able to live independently means less children will be born. Some see this as a bad thing but it's not, it means less children being born into unloving homes= less trauma in this world
1
if you feel uncomfortable being vuinerable with someone it's because you don't have a real bond/compatibility and you at least subconsiously know this which is why you you can't be authentic with said person
1
@maam-yj8ph kids in the system are a perfect example of what happens to people born into regretful parent situations but pro-natalists always overlook this to tell ppl they will always be happy after they have the children which feeds into this cycle
1
@lucaspm98 they are selling those 1950's "starter homes" in my area for over a million dollars. People bought those homes in their 20's, now 20 somethings can only aspire to live in their car
1
hmm I did carnivores for 3 months and it helped give me some energy but did not resolve my autoimmune issues and it caused a lot f disgestive issues. I know for some ppl it puts them into remission but everyone is different. For me, gluten free diet works best
1
Isreal lobby owns the politicians, Epstein was a Mossad spy, that is why nothing will be done
1
agreed, I can't be around my parents for long periods of time since I can't stand conflict/argument seekers and mean spirited people and they are both. If you have good parents DO spend more time with them though
1
@beefsupereme you can find data online for cost of living and everything except luxury goods was more affordable in the 1950's
1
the irony is that even if they get the top 10% the divorce rate is still high since status and looks do not ensure actual compatibility
1
@Billy-bc8pk population decline is a good thing, most of the problems in society are caused by hypercompetition via an inflated population competeting over a small pool of resources
1
@Billy-bc8pk ah so you are of the school that we need more people because that drives down wages allowing more resources to be produced and consumed?
1
@Billy-bc8pk I agree things naturally balance themselves out, which is why birth rates are going down since we are heavily overpopulated. Look up Mouse Utopia experiment, even animals stop breeding when their population gets too high and mortality rates are low
1
@Billy-bc8pk ftr restrictions are in place to feed corporate greed, essentially pulling the ladder up to maintain profit
1
@ the mice were not physically incapable of reproducing they just stopped doing it all together, but yeah that's what is happening now and why overpopulation and immigration leads to dystopian outcomes
1
@rathelmmc3194 most of the resources are hoarded by the rich, the more people the richer the rich get
1
it's this, glad someone understands
1
money is access to resources many of which you need just to survive
1
you don't need to live like this, there are ppl in this world who you can naturally connect with in harmony
1
@localwhackhead do you think kids can quit their jobs to take care of you in old age? There is a reason nursing homes exist and full of people who HAD kids
1
@eddie-ni5ox most of the planet is not habital and you also need a source of water to form a civilization
1
this is true which is why income inequality is the main issue rather then just getting indivually rich
1
@FiddleSticks800 not true since having kids does not equate to your kids reproducing and from data every new generation has been having less kids since the boomers/birth control. This idea that your DNA will live forever is all ego
1
@polloman15 it's better to regret not having kids then regret having them, A LOT of us grew up with parents who treated us as burdens but had kids to fill voids in their life (literal buyers remorse)
1
@KD400_ lots of old people have animals as companions even if they did have kids; do you think kids will want to live with you forever? You have 2-3 decades max of raising kids unless you are a foster parent
