it's sad but true, people in more rural areas tend to be more trusting of their neighbors and not raised to be careful of strangers or locking their doors. Even sadder is that most cases like this they are not strangers but someone you know so you can never feel safe

all she had to do was go to school (for free! Her parents covered her tuition) for 4 years, get any degree and get a job instead of slumming at her boyfriends house. She is a spoiled upper middle class girl and had no concept of how lucky she was to get her schooling covered, even if she couldn't get in after high school she could have retried when she turned 21 as a "mature student" which is easier to get in

The jurors who did interviews said they weren't convinced she did it to the point of giving a guilty verdict. To us this is blatantly retarded but the defense did a good job of planting the seed of doubt into their heads so they couldn't bring themselves to sentence a young pretty woman to death

@sbstnpofadder Jennifer's parents were extreme tiger parents where as Casey's parents tolerated her repeated failures. Casey actually wanted to put her unborn child up for adoption (after months of hiding her pregnancy) but it was her parents who insisted she keep it and live at home with them to raise it despite Casey being too young and immature to raise a child
