Obviously aftermarket Reman. GM doesn't use heat tabs. Aftermarket misassembly . 4 mile failure in a New vehicle, claim needs ck'd out

This $30k repair seems more misguided trust combined with fraud as it's source. Any used diesel engine should have oil diagnosis B4 pymt unless sold as damaged. A check of owners media for vehicle's abuse is another EZ test. Many post burnouts, etc on video 'Shorts'

The E Norm Us diesel repair cost here is good reason large gas engines are best for non commercial power needs. Ford's 7.3 gas Godzilla is good example
5
Fords Godzilla 7.3 ICE option for F250-up is munch lower cost , high torque alternative for non commercial HD use
4
@viking.200 Ya, this Story is alot like the ones from President Musk's frontman
4
Sum Ting Wong
4
Customer must Bury $30k in Repairs B4 Coffin's ready
4
Ya, That Unneeded Walking experience could tend sour product opinions
3
Financial Liability is Yuge concern behind commercial shop decisions. One recheck can eat a month's profit
3
Customer lost all the money when engine failed. Now owns $10Kto$20K hole in finances if fixed or 10cents a lb lump of salvage. Nissan not known as Chrysler of Japan without reason.
3
Watt do you estimate the bandaid fix costs?
3
$500 cash diagnosis deposit will be gone with all the Jack Around time on initial setup
3
This Cust is Used to Large Cost Repairs. Nothing's been said about non stock mods , but teardown indicates previous fixes may be partial cause. Abuse beyond design limits looks to be a factor. With today's liability concerns, partial engine o'haul seems too risky for the shop
3
That was Special
2
Why do the O.E. Rockers and beehive springs appear similar to GM LS engine parts ? Do they interchange?
2
Repairs on vehicle's with 'modified' emissions is a 'Slippery Slope' of EPA regs. Diesel Bros got their Tally Wackered big time over EPA mods
2
Comments about this shop as one of few capable of consistant quality don't bode well for public opinion of rampant incompetence in the vehicle repair industry.
2
1st up is black oil that tells of no Maintenance Then .015" Frt 2 Back block deck ht variation tells obvious story that incompetence after GM built it is involved. A GM factory new LS3 with marine tune least costly reliable solution.
2
Dishonest seller is the only culprick here. Car make shouldn't even be mentioned, having nothing to do with the discvered fraud.
2
Next up is expensive Bank Acct 'Tune Up'
2
This seems a MB factory created nitemare, handed off by selling MB dealer to MB private shop now handed off to Machine shop. All handee's are getting a full dose of MB exclusivity. Sorta like a Poison Apple.
2
In this case , it's always more than vehicle's resale value.
2
The old BOAT Method. (Break Out Another few Thousand$$$$) Proven means of successful repairs
2
While that's not good , it shouldn't have any brng on stated issue.. Unless there's Zero in the oil pan. In Which case the solution would be simple (but pricey)
2
Wow, cost of fuel system fix probably exceeds vehicle value. This apparently Common CT4 failure jades any economic advantage of diesel use.
2
Sludge attack SeZ all. Only liability free solution is a fresh Engine , eh.
2
Wise Move .....
2
Who covers all the labor here if the customer isn't charged?
2
Was this T valve a fix for engine 'Run Away' ????
2
These are days of Roses for this shop. Monster repair invoices create yuge cash flo to keep well oiled shop humming.
2
Nissan dropped this option after 2019 due to several reliability issues. 10cents a lb is good price guide for used models now-a-days
2
Does this now create Expectation Nitemares for other shops , not to mention only billing 30hrs labor for a 90hr job. Need for Specialized equipment is also glossed over , ain't it , eh.
2
Another Multiple Hand Off deal that has a bad feel to it.
2
Looks like switch to big cube ICE engine (Godzilla, etc) is great cost effective damaged Diesel fix for many.
2
Debt Analysis best done b4 purchase of vehicles with sketchy Engineering, Reliability history, &/or expensive maintenance Current diesel offerings are poor choice for all but commercial, industrial, or High Income consumers. Large gas engines munch less costly, less costly maintenance due to simpler construction.
2
6 figure diagnosis and engine replacement ?
2
Incompetence Rampent in Vehicle Repairs [& most skilled industry] due to lack of trained/experienced techs. This MB example shows just how true the problem is. Mite bee Excellent candidate for LS 3 Crate Repower. !
2
Probably saw very little Redline op , very little time @ WOT.
2
Ya, Owner's not exactly a wealth of information here . Like most , doesn't have a clue beyond turning the key , heading down the road, and then hopefully the brakes work.
2
Wooden pulling History, Pending ,Current codes be best 1st step after verified Crank, No Start ?
2
If this sketchy engine proves non viable after installing, is customer OK paying costs involved? That answer is key to proceeding.
1
@davelowets Mass production Nuclear power plants will be realized as only viable 24/7 lektrik source as Yuge A.I. power demands max out current availability , eh.
1
Engine is Junk. Get Phunny Feeler this is attempt to have Dave financially responsible for all/part of fix costs. Lack of updates isn't reassuring , eh
1
Ya , they did . Only 5psi . No flow rate check , tho
1
Watt was That ?
1
Rover Tech's comment indicates this Mfg's use of sketchy materials for critical systems. Apparently there's no updated part for common fail
1
Probably no ASE certs , either. Video of them removing engine ,no doubt, entertaining.
1
Sitting under/assembling unstable engine swinging on a chain (with no apparent Redundant safety backup?) seems a daunting task .
1
Really Good infomercial for attracting new shop customers. Few shops have the equipment &/or experience to do right by your broken diesel !
1
It Should be Warranty unless intentional .
