I have become interested in Zizek, who reevaluates Marx by returning to Hegel and introducing the psychoanalysis of Lacan. Zizek turns some Marxist views on their head in light of our modern cynical culture, for instance in relation to commodification Marx says "They do not know it, but they do it", whereas Zizek points out that "They know what they are doing and they do it anyways". His notion's of The Sublime Objective Ideology is a very thought-provoking critique on ideology itself and how we can never escape from ideology. Summary for those out of the know; He basically uses Lacan to introduce a Hegelian dialectic between the conscious and subconscious (the Real vs the Symbolic / Imaginary), which manifests itself into ideology. Ideology is the natural state of how we interact with the world. This critiques come from a historical position of coming out of the Cold War in a so-called "post-ideological" society where capitalism was seen as De Facto better because it won.

China took the worst parts of all three, and called that "balance". Gtfo with that noise.

"Scientific" lmao... As if you guys know that progress is necessarily inevitable. Marx was Eurocentric asf with his examples, hardly scientific. Sure it has a nice interweaving grandiose theory... But just because it has a theory of social interaction doesn't make it scientific. This is coming from somebody who likes the social "sciences".... But let's be honest Marxist who say their scientific and therefore better than other socialists are just deluding themselves.
