A fetus is not a person yet, and abortion in the case of a mothers health does save a real life, it also helps that women that already has kids, so she can live to raise them. The biblical intent of aborting illegitimate children is to not transfer property to them. The concern is not about the unborn child, The concern was about infidelity/ trespass and how offspring receive resources from the family. If you read Deuteronomy 22:24, You will see that the Bible punishes a woman who is raped in town but does not scream- I assume they believe that makes her complicit even if her fight/flight/freeze response was freeze. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ just seems a little barbaric if you ask me.

This law is obviously geared at people who have been victims of sexual assault, even if it is a low number, but why you're choosing to support vilifies people who have been abused. The fact that you're okay with defending making a 10-year-old carrier incestual rape baby to term is honestly disgusting. She doesn't know what's happening to her body she was assaulted and now is involuntarily pushed into this predicament. Let the kid be a kid, let her go to school and have friends, rather than being a 11 year old pushing a stroller. The fact that you're still defending this breaks my heart for the victims of sexual assault. @brendawestley2506 Scientifically speaking, before the second trimester doesn't cause pain to the fetus. If a mother wants to carry to term and have the child be adopted that's fine, but that should never be mandated as it has an effect on currently living people (a fetus is not an independent organism). Also, I find it curious that people just assume the kid wants to be here. Not to mention, over use of resources and pollution by humans will eventually kill the ecosystems that sustain us, so why is cramming more hairless apes on this small planet "pro-life"? I find it ironic that pro-life Republicans are happy to lift EPA regs and pump smog into the air of a new born and it's parents- not saying that's you, but if we want a "happy and healthy" life for the little ones the environment is very important.

Scientifically, a fetus can react to stimulus through reflex, but there is NO cortex to process pain signals until after 24 weeks (2nd trimester). You can make a severed frog leg move by putting electrode on it to stimulate the nerves- that doesn't mean the dead frog leg feels pain. Why do you assume the fetus wants to be alive? Why should it be born into a bad home with an abusive father? Women who birth an abusive man's child have to interact with the abuser and that hinders the safety of both child and mother. But tell me again how you care about life when you force birth then provide little to no assistance to help them if they are in a bad situation. Also, do you believe in limiting pollution, or are shortened life spans and increased health issues "pro-life"??
