@e1han03 Extreme inequality is terrible for society, and it allows the rich to corrupt politics. Currently, "we the people" refers to corporate "Persons", but you see nothing wrong with that.

@dkoda840 People don't do that... which is why externalities exist, which is why markets fail.

So? He uses that wealth to control society, like the fact that he working on monopolization and also hires people to crush unions . Rich people control society but that doesn't seem to concern you.

@jacksonunreal2481 So? Government under capitalism protects the investor class.

Large amounts of stocks give massive amounts of power

What? You don't like corporate plutocracy?

As it should...

@Elizabeth68337 To be fair He's not exactly just sitting on his wealth, most of his wealth is in stocks which means it's invested in productive capital... Which he has been pretty good at managing to increase shareholder value. AMZN is trillion dollar company because they maximize investor profits at the expense of society. There were industrious feudal lords but that doesn't make feudalism legitimate, same with capitalism.

@OtakuUnitedStudio Yep. The wealth/ power just concentrates. For anyone who values a Democratic society it should be troubling.

@jacksonunreal2481 Even with a small government capitalist brutalize their employees, but I Guess you actually like working 12 hours a day, 6 days a week in dangerous work conditions with no workers compensation. Capitalism is authoritarian and is the antithesis of freedom.
1
@cdesha "Real world, historical capitalism isn't capitalism." Lmao, okay, dude.
1
@cdesha Lmao, you realize law enforcement of private property is done by the state, right? You're acting like the real world is built with platonic forms where things are never shades of grey, and frankly it's just silly. And I clearly said the authoritarianism was largely a result of a monied elite, which is created because of private property. Smh.
1
@cdesha Lmao, says the guy that hasn't proved anything either! You're hilarious!
1
@cdesha Yeah... That's the claim you failed to prove. Solid work.
1
@cdesha And you're so bone headed you don't realize that your platonic forms don't mean anything in the real world. Apparently we don't have capitalism because we have publicly funded law enforcement and public schooling... Hurr durr. I already said we have private property, therefore capitalism. It's you who so daft they don't realize there is a range of capitalistic ideas from classical liberalism to social democracy. Read some more political philosophy other than just a sentence of a fucking encyclopedia.
1
@cdesha Says the person who reads one encyclopedia entry and think he can "No True Scotsman" a whole ideology with thousands of iterations. Honestly, just tired of this BS line of lazy thinking that completely misses any nuances- it's actually is a rather bone-headed thing to do (sure it's an ad hom, but it's also fact). Congrats on barely understanding the definition of capitalism; I don't think you even know the difference between classical liberalism and social democracy. Lmao, thanks for the laughs, bud.
1
@cdesha Sounds like a cute deflection from the fact that you really don't know the similarities and difference between classical liberalism and social democracy ;)
1
@cdesha You do... Yet act like social democracy isn't a type of capitalism "cuz everything isn't privatized". Smh- why are you even here?
