CNN isn't that radically left wing, the reason why there's usually more liberal news outlets in a society is because the media, that helps create public legitimacy, is the backstop for what is the "acceptable" amount of progressivism that the established order will tolerate- conservatism is based on preserving the established order, it already is its own backstop. This theory is from the book Manufacturing Consent.
