EV manufacturers have the power to change supply chains but they choose not to. Governments where these companies are from also know about the problem but they won't change it either. Capitalism is a disaster.

There are ways to improve cities without creating gentrification that pushes people out. Creating community wealth through cooperatives, community land trusts, unions, and Credit Union / public banking. It's a model that has actually helped cities start to rebuild after losing lots of jobs, cities like Cleveland, Ohio, US and Preston, Lancashire, UK.

Deviancy in its most literal sense is literally just deviating from the norm

Totally, Muslim banning books doesn't sound 'unlikely'

But he did have "evidence"... He said so. I love how he expects us to just believe his gut feeling, but he demands evidence from anybody he doesn't agree with. This cowboy's hat is too tight.

@AntiDegenerate1971 So you support Muslims in decreasing the age of consent for girls to just 12? You're teaming up with the religion whose prophet had a 9-year-old wife? Lol.... Nice, moral high ground.

For once? Don't do my boy Shane Smith dirty like that.

Lol. Well if you wanted context the best place to get it would be... The book. But looks like a pretty clear example of bullying and peer pressure.

@DarPower1 I think you misunderstand... It's already been gentrified and has pushed out the local population to surrounding towns. Being able to build new and nicer homes without pushing out the local residents is an important task. It can be done by anchoring people into their communities through these types of democratic organizations. I hope that helps explain where I'm coming from.

@alexandermuller950 Well, obviously you're using social norm and individual normality. One could certainly assert that they were being individually weird while being socially normal if one tries their best to act normal, in an out of character sort of way. Social norms are certainly culturally relative but of course I was speaking of comparing the individual to the society that which surrounds them- there are even different levels of group identity. So normality may change transcending through these group sizes (family, town, state, country, etc), but as one gets larger the smaller components become a part of the social average. In a way you could say norms are averages and averages and don't actually exist- like if I have two numbers of grapes in each hand one hand with 2 and the other with eight, technically my average grapes per hand is five but neither of my hands have five grapes. If we wanted to be most objective we would probably say we are all deviant of the norm but there is a normal amount of deviancy because we are all individuals and not the average- so there becomes an ethereal and subjective opinion on how much do you even see as acceptable. The average may not literally exist but we utilize this concept as a way of structuring ourselves.

@alexandermuller950 Is this what that is about 🤦🏼 lmao! Homosexuality is certainly normal of mammalian species to have a few percent of people, but it is not the norm among mammalian species because it is only a few percent. Like I said you can be normal to yourself and abnormal to society... And there's not a normative (as in 'what should be') judgment, it's just a sheer fact of numbers- nobody's attacking your identity. Be unique.
1
What are you talking about? Isn't it kind of ironic that the age of consent for women in many Muslim countries is 12.....

Lol, okay, take the looney religious nutjobs... Right at home with the other looney religious nutjobs.

Ban speech, not guns 👍 Fascism is fun

🤦🏼🤦🏼 apparently you didn't hear the context of the book from the teacher.... It's about confronting depression and su1cide that are caused from people bullying gay people. Dude, how are we supposed to have a conversation about mental health in this country If you guys are such snowflakes? Let me guess you're so much of a snowflake you couldn't bear to have sex ed taught in class.
1
@jcosby51 🤦🏼 They aren't snowflakes- they're just constantly bullied and ostracized by people like you who call them "grotesque". It's literally those hateful words that are echoed throughout society that makes them feel unloved- that doesn't make them snowflakes, that means they're human beings with feelings. If you decide to be empathetic for a second, you would probably be in the same position if you were ostracized to the same extent. The sad thing is is that you don't even refer to biology You just whine and complain about some "idealistic heterosexual norm" that literally does not exist in the real world. Like if you took a brief look at homosexuality across species It's not uncommon for a small percentage of the population of thousands of different species to be homosexual. I'm going to guess you probably think that there are only two genders/ sexes as well. Ignoring the fact that gender is different from sex, how do you explain XXXY and XYY chromosomes? Because it's obviously not so cut and dry. Do you believe in Jesus, by chance?
