@TheAvandriaSeries We know what he would believe because his thoughts on systemic capitalism underpin his whole thought process on racism, militarism, and economic exploitation as a whole.
Community Land Trusts were a really big part of helping sharecroppers own the land that they worked. It gave them the economic organization to have a say in their work. Creating economic equality necessarily helps create more social equality (alleviating racism, sexism, ageism, etc) by allowing more people access to the decision making processes that determine where resources go. MLK understood that power dynamic and peacefully fought for equal access for people of color.
I'm a democratic socialist, there are a lot of amazing thinkers who also identify the same. So, yeah, sometimes I name drop the amazing thinkers that came to the same conclusions. MLK, George Orwell, Albert Einstein, Helen Keller, just to name a few. I also use their names to point out that democratic socialism is about freedom... All of them have their stories about resisting authoritarianism. I find those stories powerful and inspiring. They are not to be worshiped, but they are important.
