Why does debt have to be repaid? Short answer: IT DOESN'T. If modern Christians read the Bible they would remember there was the religious Jubilee. We should Jubilee Student Debt. I would recommend the book Debt: First 5,000 Years by David Graeber for more on this topic on how debt is used to subjugate the poor.

Why should I pay for grade school education? Because it helps foster skills that help society. You benefit from more doctors. But yes, debt relief won't fix the broken system, which is why it needs to be revamped.

Twitter still the url and posts are still called 'tweets'. Not to mention "X" is literally synonymous with being the letter for a substitutable variable, which is just asking for people to use the old name considering few people actually like the new name.

What's insane is that people can buy medical debt for pennies on the dollar to forgive as charity... But the people who owe the medical debt have to pay the whole amount.

@IshtarNike The intro is powerful, agreed. Learning about Haiti being poor because they had to repay France for freeing themselves from slavery was heartbreaking. Capital Bias kills just like racism kills.

Capitalism is full of Capital Bias. Remember how banks got bailed out, instead of homeowners. People got kicked out and banks took their homes. Capital bias justifies businesses to lay off thousands and do billions in buybacks and dividend raises. Capital bias is as bad as racism because it dehumanizes and creates an economic system of dispossession. Capital bias can even provide the structure for other types of bias, like racism (Manifest Destiny to credit red lining) sexism (not valuing domestic work in a capitalist economy). We must create economic democracy to have the economy work for the people, not just the other way around.

I think we need to lower the working age to 5 so these kindergartners can work their way through grade school. I mean, how much nap time do these lazybones need in a day? Once they're literally off the teat, they need to get a job and learn a skill like coding. /S

@SteefPip Land should be owned occupants either individual with a land value tax or through community land trusts- mortgages should be through credit unions or public banks so members are the owners. Landlords and financiers are rent seekers.
