  11. While the logic goes price gouging can spur new producers to the market in times of need, oftentimes natural disasters make creating that production very limited. A better way to deal with the problem is subsidies and government action that can help spur production and not overwhelm people in need, especially when the market isn't equipped to handle the situation.
