@puregsr You make my day. They ditch the timing chain and use timing belt instead. Match nicely how long VW engine could last. 120k Miles max.

@speedkar99 definitely. Water pump leaks every 50k miles, timing chain problems , fuel pump, etc. They use timing belt in newer one because no one will keep it beyond 100k miles anyway

@puregsr Early Benz 1980s or BMW 1990s. VW TDI 1.9L before 2008. Before German cars went NUTS with BAD plastics, electronics, and unnecessary failed technology. Make sure you get Manual transmission or for automatic, get the one with Aisin/Toyota transmission.

@HumbleBearcat Yes, that was the time when VW do not put a turbo on everything. Newer generation TSI engines are better with regular timing belt that will last the life of the car (notabene 150K miles).
