  1. I had Nissan, Toyota, and Honda with plastic valve covers. They are much more solid and feel more substantial than the one in Ford or GM. The timing chain in Ford is still way better than most European cars. Do you ever open an Honda or Acura direct injection Earth Dream or Mazda engines? Are they also have big issues with carbon built up? Toyota USA and Canada completely eliminate direct injection only in their line up.
