  1. It is wellknown, 1.6mm is still safe and it is still usable up to that point. Replacing before that point is a waste of money and bad for environment. What we need is to disposed and prevent crappy tire from the market that are not even safe even at 3mm thread depth. Worn tires has lower rolling resistance and better handling in dry condition.
