@TravellingwithRussell This program of social housing, which is given to those in need for free, still exists today. Another issue is that getting into this program is quite difficult, because now there are quite a few people who really need to improve their housing. But free social housing is the property of the state, not private. People there pay rent. Under the USSR, there was no private ownership of housing at all. All housing was rented from the state. Our people now do not know about this or have forgotten. Therefore, they continue to whine about "free apartments", which, allegedly, were distributed under the USSR to everyone. And this was not at all. It was a rental!

These are typical residential buildings and typical apartments for the late USSR. We call them "Brezhnevka" (Brezhnev's houses). They are cheap, so poor people still buy them. And it's so much better than your mobile hauses
