  8. Fully agree with everything you say. We have 120km/h limits on our motorways. Smart limits would definitely be a great step, as you say the roads are a totally different place depending on traffic and weather conditions. I think speeding is an easy way out for police, getting a number on a radar gun is impossible to fight but I would much rather them be policing poor driving at lower speeds. Doing 100mph or more on a good road (for smart drivers) is probably one of the safest places you can be because you are in the zone and fully concentrating. In my view being on your phone through town at 30mph is more dangerous.

  9. Ok, this might be quite long..... I am a lifelong BMW enthusiast but right now I HATE almost every one of the cars that thay make. In the past few years BMW has lost all conception of what being an exclusive brand is. All they car about now is getting as many people as possible to buy their cars. In the past BMWs were what mad you work those few extra hours to afford one. The new models is just way too much. In the early 2000s, they had a nice range of cars: 3-Series Saloon 3-Series Touring 3-Series Coupe 3-Series Convertible 5-Series Saloon 5-Series Touring 7-Series Saloon Z3/4 X5 These are all the cars anyone could ever need. But now: 1-Series 3-door 1-Series 5-door 2-Series Coupe 2-Series Convertible 2-Series Active Tourer 3-Series Saloon 3-Series Touring 3-Series Gran Tourismo 4-Series Coupe 4-Series Convertible 4-Series Gran Coupe 5-Series Saloon 5-Series Touring 5-Series Gran Tourismo 6-Series Coupe 6-Series Convertible 6-Series Gran Coupe 7-Series Saloon X1 X3 X4 X5 X6 Z4 WHO THE HELL NEEDS ALL THESE CARS??? The 2-Series Active Tourer is another argument as well. Would you call a 1.5L FRONT WHEEL DRIVE a BMW because I sure wouldn't. This car is just BMW's way of saying we dont care about exclusivity anymore we just want to really maximize every cent of possible profit. No naturally aspirated engines is also a joke. So much for The Ultimate Driving Machine. All a real driver wants is a big naturally aspirated engine up front, a six-speed box in the middle and all power going to the rear. "Turbochargers are for people who cant build engines" - Mr. Cosworth. "Forced induction is a way of cheating on horse power" - BMW!!!!!!!!!  New M cars have also lost their edge. When have you ever heard of an Eco-friendly M car? BMW seems to think they should be. Why cant, even if every other one of their cars were diesel yokes, the M Cars be fire-breathing V8s and V10s? (Sorry if I sounded like Clarkson there!) The 'E' numbers have also got out of hand. It was great when the E46 covered all of the 3-Series'. Now there is F30-F31-F32-F33-F80-F82, i mean does the M3 really need a whole new number, so far away from the normal 3? And the next 5-Series will be the G30. That means that 120 numbers were skipped instead of 5 from the E34 to the E39. I really hope somebody has made it this far!! That's my rant over now, leave me alone with my E39 and I'll be happy!!!

But the recent videos have become very repetitive, quite boring and is 90% just standing around one of your cars and talking. This video is very long for what it actually contains. There’s definitely a big difference between the BMW fanboy who gets excited over a new 4 series with masses of M Performance carbon add ons and the enthusiast who turns their head at an older ‘purer’ BMW.

  142. Dude stick with your E39, i would never sell an E39 for an E60. The E60 is by no means a bad car but God it doesnt stand a chance against an E39 in my opinion! Prepare to feel much cheaper materials in the E60 and hear muck more road/wind noise if you switch. If you want an M5 get an E39, sounds just as good, proper manual and god you would feel special driving that car. Just enjoy your own E39 and love it while you can!!

  155. I'm sure snow would get annoying after a while, but we haven't had any in six or seven years in Ireland! All seasons are the way to go here though since we've got constant rain all year and max temp in the summer is only 75ish for a few weeks!

  173. They will but its not quite yet! In Ireland the going rate for an E39 M5 a couple of years ago was €9-13,000 depending on condition. In the past few months one dealer put one up for €20,000. You might say that's a bargain but Ireland is the enemy of all things car. The tax is €2,300 a year and Irish insurance is an absolute joke, not to mention that petrol is €1.40 per litre! About $6.50 per gallon. So there is no market at all for these cars. There are about five for sale all around the €18-20,000 mark and they haven't moved in six months. Yes, they will go up but it will be a long time before they do in some places! Lucky enough actually because I'll have to wait a good ten years before I'll be able to afford one and I don't want to have to pay €100,000!

  202. Fun fact about the wipers: the right hand drive cars didn’t change the direction of the wipe, so they wipe towards the passenger side. It covered a big enough range to not have to change it. Just another reason to love the E39!
