Getting a fingertip feel for social interactions is absolutely essential for seeing through people's verbal deceptions and that's only possible by getting yourself out there and interacting with other humans. You can read books about non verbal cues and they definitely help, but only practice and trial and error over time will give you the actual power of accurately reading people.

  2. The Laws of Human Nature is a powerful blow to the self image of anyone who has a hint of openness. Unless you read it thinking it only applies to other people, which would make you a potent narcisist, by the end you should be taking a long, painful stare into the mirror. Great stuff.

  8. It wasn't until I found Greene and Carl Jung that I really began to understand what it means to become a man. It really takes enormous courage to be reborn, dig yourself out of your own grave and traverse the forest at night back to home. Terrible things like that are not done voluntarily, which is why it was forced on all boys in many primitive cultures.

  10. I believe that even near death experiences can give you a sense of the false sublime and get you addicted. It's very common for folks to get addicted to near death experiences and put themselves in that position over and over again through risky behaviours and sports.

  14. An interesting corolary to the idea that people who brag excessively are insecure is that any extreme character trait indicates the opposite. For example: when a person seems excessively naive and innocent, they are hiding an aggressive ambition and a manipulative and perhaps malicious tendency.

  21. I suspect his stroke was caused by smoking, although I've never seen him smoke or admit to doing it. If he's still doing it, it would explain his high blood pressure, but he's still very much in good shape compared to how he was a few months after the stroke, so I'm fairly confident he'll be kicking for a few more years. Keep in mind that this is all conjecture. Stay strong Robert!!!

  26. I was barely an adult when I read it and I was in love with a friend of mine at the time. The Art Of Seduction gave me the tools and frame of mind to get closer to him and although it was a lost case from the beginning (he's heterosexual, although that was still up for debate back then), we're best friends today. I guess the first chapter is indeed the most important (Choose the Right Victim). But The Art of Seduction was much more than that, it was my initiation into the real world. Robert's books have immeasurable value because they teach you the most important skills that you won't learn from anyone else. So much of our world revolves around doing what's right and what's acceptable, but everyone acts sly and manipulative, most of us unconsciously. Thanks to its seductive style of writing, The Art of Seduction allowed me to make amends with my own shadow and to own it and display it proudly, destroying any naive notions I still had about the world. After I finised studying it a couple of times, it set me on a rabbit hole of self development and investigation into human nature that would never have happened without it. I highly recomend the audiobook version, the narrator's voice is delicious! 🤭

  27. It's kind of sad to say Robert is on the same level as JP. Did you watch JP's podcast episode where he interviewed Robert? I was sooo looking forward to it when I saw the video was out, but it was an utter disappointment!! Jordan was constantly interrupting him and it felt more like he was just trying to have his pre established views validated by Robert. JP has a HUUUGE ego that's constantly getting in the way of putting out great content. Robert on the other hand seems to constantly meditate on his flaws and his human, all too human nature so that he can allow great things to flourish outside of his ego. I can't imagine having to withstand a conversation with JP, Robert did such a great job at it, even though Jordan never allowed the master to shine. I honestly couldn't get myself to watch it through to the end.

  28. Honestly, from the perspective of any other country, supporting this or that faction of US politics is a sign of indoctrination from US propaganda. All that matters is that the US are not your friends, they don't want spanish speaking countries to be prospering. All they want is for the US to have the advantage over every other country and they will resort to all kinds of perverse means to achieve that as made evident by programs like Operation Condor. If you're from Latin America, supporting Trump is like shooting your own foot. If you support conservative ideologies, search for parties in your own country who are conservative but also stand their ground with relation to foreign policies and aren't eager to sell your country's resources "a preço de banana".

  32. Hello mister Green I found this video to be unbelievably insightful and entertaining, literally blewing my mind and laughing out loud at times. However, being someone from Brazil, who is not enmeshed in all the political intricacies of the USA, and who never, ever, even thinks about USA politics, your video immidiately felt poisonous and toxic when you started using your logic to make a judgment of value over "the other side" of USA politcs. Please refrain from talking about the current politics of the USA (do not hesitate to talk about the past, like, say, Lincolns past, which you have brilliantly written about in the past).
