  10. There are 2 issue that concerns me minimum wage increase - this could hurt small business so perhaps mandate should apply to only those companies employing 50+ Also I have a problem with a h.s. kid working summers making same wage as daddy. This needs to be addressed. I think in order to receive $15, you must be 18, possess either h.s.diploma or GED. What about seniors on soc security? When will we get a REAL cost of living raise? Most of us have been seriously affected by recession of '08, lost jobs, retirement & equity in homes Many lost years of income raising children, got divorced or worked minimum wage jobs . So are we the NEW poor? How fair is that? So why not pay seniors the difference between benefit & $15 an hr based on a 40 hr work week? IF total income from SSI, investments & p/t work is less than $2,400 per month. Still not living large but manageable. ON POSITIVE SIDE FOR WORK FORCE, seniors will be able to quit or do volunteer work or be able to take of health. So this creates more jobs for those working full time or college kids. PLus a relief for tax payers, because we will no longer require EBT, fuel & other assistance. What about handicapped, cancer patients, etc? Last SSI raise also raised medicare so we had less to live on. Healthcare is the biggest bite. Medicare is great if you are healthy but most have at least minor issues that require prescriptions, specialist & tests. Dental is not covered at all. TAP the CAP so we can live with dignity. There would be plenty of money if everyone paid SSI on every dollar earned.
