Agree with most of that but hamas didnt organise a coup, they were elected and then won a small civil war in gaza against fatah who were the previous encumbents. Also the main reason for the 2005 withdrawal from gaza was due to israel not being able to control the area due to the ever increasing population of palestinians in the gaza strip. They decided to withdraw for strategic purposes. The good thing was that they showed that they can evict their settlers, thousands in this case, to new areas if they have a good reason too. Something pro palestinian supporters need to take into account when they criticise israel for allowing their settlers into palestine territory.

@MichaelSmith-mc8bd When the veterans stop supporting the british legion then i will. A Savings account keeps regular money coming in too. Especially as their main fund raising happens only once a year. They need a constant flow of money, i would have thought, to support all the initiatives they do all year round.

@edaleman2758 Warsaw ghetto didnt target civilians

Exactly. Why would hamas want a ceasefire when their ultimate aim is to make this a bloodbath and use the colateral civilian losses in gaza to rouse other arab/muslim nations and terror groups to join in their holy jihasd with them. They might agree to small cessations for humanitarian aid so they can reorganise and reconsolidate their defences but ultimately they aint interested in no permanent ceasefire.

You ever heard of the UN, they gave the land to both populations present in the region at that time in 1948. 68%arab and 32%jew. The jews declared independance. The arabs declared war. Three times 1948/67/73 the jews won their right to be recognised. They are not going to go anywhere now. They also have nuclear weapons. So there wouldnt be any state left to exist, never mind region. So how about people like you protest that hamas drop their illogical ideology and take the mandela route instead. Negotiation and maybe over time, reconciliation instead of this constant race to more violence. From which the cycle is never ending.

Easy to spot the anti semites on this thread

Those civilians have had 3 weeks of israel telling them to move south of the wadi gaza. I dont know what else people expect israel to do. They have given warnings. They are sacrificing their own soldiers in a land invasion to try and limit civilian losses. They could instead do what putin did to grosny after muslim chechnyan rebels did similar terrorist attacks on his people. He flattened it. Similar as aleppo and mariupol tho for different reasons. Funnily enough nobody in the west or the middle east batted an eyelid back then. I wonder if it would have been different if the jews had done it? I think people also need to start looking at egypt and the UN to prevent all these innocents dying. No bombs are going to land in the sinai so why are there not refugee camps already set up there and filling up?

@locket5312 Exactly. As fundamentalist jihadis have often told us in the west. You may love life but we love death. So they dont give a toss about their own lives or the ones they are supposed to be representing in gaza. They only see them as other martyrs, just like them, on their way to heaven in support of their holy jihad. Which is the complete destruction of israel, "from the river to the sea" and maybe the ethnic cleansing of all jews in the region as well. Judging by their actions of 7th october.

@user-bi8ko7kc6h A putin state funded troll tying to capitilise and propagandise for its master. What a surprise. Ukraine is in a war. Guess who started it. Guess who targets ukraines food ,water and energy infrastructure? Putin is mates with iran who is mates with hamas. There is the axis of evil right there.

@alienthed.e.i.9165 Or the israeli government should stop their retaliatory strikes and security enabling hamas to continue the same terror attacks they have been committing since its inception in 1987. Hamas has been previously responsible for the deaths of over 2,000 Israelis through suicide bombings and other attacks. Hamas violence derailed the Oslo Peace Process between Israel and the PLO during the 1990s. Their founding charter states...Hamas rejects any alternative to the full and complete liberation of Palestine, from the river to the sea” — i.e., the annihilation of Israel. The charter says: “The Day of Judgment will not come about until Muslims fight Jews and kill them.”

@WillyEckaslike During the ottoman empire days there were 13k jews living in the region. 60K in 1915 at the time of the balfour declaration. Which was 10% of the population at the time. It then rose to 32% by 1945 for the UN declaration. Many of them were immigrants from outside of the region which is one of the reasons the palestinians hate israel. Tho it should be noted that the palestinian arab population also doubled in size as well through immigration. Many arab immigrant workers moved into the region as well to work on all the infrastructure projects of the french and british empires at that time. Palestines population rising from 600k to over a million.

@edaleman2758 Nelson mandela didnt ethnic cleanse white south africans. He actually did the opposite to hamas and chose negotiation and reconciliation. He was a true freedom fighter.
