  1. All the wars fought by the west since 9/11 have been about combatting the rise of islamic fundamentalism. The war on terror. Obama said it would take 20 odd years and since we havnt had a major terrorist attack in the west since afghanistan, fingers crossed, then i would say that the war on terror has been won. As for comparing the two the chechen war was similar as russia had its own 9/11 in beslan but the rest is just pure power grabbing imperialism.
