@epink Maybe a country fighting a much larger empire might have something to do with it? Plus there has been 2 years of video evidence of people being forcefully conscripted to fight. Especially in far off states of the empire. As well as many others of them complaining of their conditions afterwards , either in their supposed barracks or on the battlefield. Navalny supporters charged for attempting to lay flowers for him after his death have all recently been conscripted to the frontlines as a recent example. Thousands of fighting age men also left russia to avoid conscription.

AndrePepink Since when has it been embarrassing to speak the truth. I have been following this conflict since well before maidan and have researched before as well right back to 1991. More to the point why would you write a comment against " human life is not valued" in putins russia? So you believe that putin values human life then despite all the murders and destruction he has caused in the name of russian imperialism since he came to power? Im a brit by the way so i dont take dollars or rubles like some seem to be doing in your supposedly democratic country.

Ever heard of thermobaric weapons and other forms of artillery and rockets? Putins military have them in large numbers. Ukraines military does not have equalibrium in that anymore as certain american politicians now seem to prefer supporting nationalism and strong leaders over democracy.

@jimmyoconnell6167 You need to read petr akopovs article "the new world order". Its online. Look it up. It describes russia regaining its lost ussr empire. Putin wanted all of ukraine. Probably still does. Now its all about saving face and annexing as much territory before some kind of peace deal.

@Jamie-qt5yo So what. He apparently is still in the Ukraine despite being offered a way out, and he is still asking for ammunition and fighting. So his behavior is consistent with the comment and thats all that matters. Unless, of course, you prefer to support the state funded propaganda narrative of putin instead

@iler7439 Putins government spends 1.7 billion usd a year on its propaganda budget. Half on its state tv/radio and the other half on its paid trolling abroad like RT etc, russian troll farms or even paid call centres from asia that trolls like this eminate from. Or its just another far right cold hearted nationalists supporting another far right cold hearted nationalist in putin. Plenty of them in the world unfortunately.

@richardmarsden5610 Er, putins original SMO was to do a 3 day quick regime change. Thats why the nearby airport was ceased and the zillion mile convoy was racing to kiev from the border. Yanukovych was in belorus waiting to be flown into kiev to replace zelensky. Plus TASS admitted it themselves with an article "the new world order" released 0n 26th feb, just 4 days after the invasion. It was released early in error as they thought the SMO had been successful. It was written by petr akopov and you can find it online if you google him. It was quickly taken down by tass but not before the internet archive had recorded it. It stated the reasons for the SMO which was putins imperialist attempt to restore ukraine back under his control pre ussr 1991.
