The money the monarchy brings in dwarfs the amount needed to support it. It promotes the country and the economy with soft power. It promotes and supports numerous charities and schemes. It promotes and supports culture and the arts. It recognises and rewards good citizenship and success. It promotes and supports the united nations of the commonwealth. It promotes and supports the UK armed forces. Probably the most important thing for me though is it represents the nations identity. Scrap all that for republicanism. No thanks.
