@davidg3944 Well this one voted for brexit because the EU has a democratic deficit in that the meps we voted for just rubberstamped through policies decided by unelected commisioners. Admittedly others had their own reasons for voting brexit. But for me and many others right across the political spectrum true democracy is way above an EU that is for an ever closer union and undemocratic form of federalisation. Maybe being subjegated during WW2 made most of europe want some kind of federalisation to prevent it happening again? Whatever, we in the UK never lost our democracy in WW2 so maybe thats a reason why we treasure it so much more than the others? We can still support ukraine from outside the EU and from within NATO. Even if NATO goes and a some kind of european army is formed i am sure we would be invited to join it. As for putin supporting the brexit campaign in some way i am sure he did, as he wants to divide the western alliance in any way he can. Same as he supported the SNP during their referendum campaign. And obviously trump/maga. It didnt work though as unlike trump/maga us brexit voters are not all far right nationalists/isolationists.

Also not a word either about their hated NATO expansion right on their border when finland joined. Ukraine just threatens to join and putin invades em for it
