Massive respect and good luck from the UK.

@GenXerReacts Could have sworn it was 2024. Must be all these putin trolls, just like him, living in the past. Days of empires are long gone. Unless your a putin poodle of course.
50
Nice to hear the applause in support of him too.

I think the problem in the states is that they only have 2 parties so all the extremes politically get lumped into one party or the other. They should have a limitless number of parties so then the moderate majority can ignore the extremist ones at election time.

RIP hero. Condolences to family and friends. Feel the same way about him as any other unknown soldier from any country that dies fighting evil. "Lest we forget".
16
Same here. American gis were based here in my home city of plymouth pre d day. We have a statue in memory and respect for them down on the river tamar where they boarded their landing craft on their way to normandy. My late mum who was a little girl at the time always talked about those " nice americans" who used to give her and other kids sweets and candy. One of her older relatives met and married a gi and went back to salt lake city in the states with him after the war as well.

@CyberBeep_kenshi Rhetoric and propaganda of countries like america? You do know that there is a difference between propaganda and a free press. For example putins media is putins media which makes it propaganda. Believe this or else, so to speak. Whereas the US and the rest of the free world have multiple media outlets all from different political viewpoints. Left, right and centre. So you have checks and balances built into it.

MAGABBPP Make america great again by becoming putins poodle

@fefferryerr1818 Its not the script thats moving, its the story behind it.

@bobkellough6144 You missed out trump and maga who would end all support for ukraine. Any reason why?
9
@weasle2904 The US has donated 0.32% of its gdp to ukraine. The UK 0.55% and germany 0.57%. Denmark 2%. Norway, Lithuania, Latvia, Finland and Poland also stand out among the highest donors by share of GDP. Estonia the highest with a whopping 3.55% of its gdp donated to ukraine. Poland is also outspending the US in its defence spending per gdp which trump should remember when criticising nato countries not doing their bit.
9
@misterx-gy3fg As a far right, cold hearted, selfish, nationalist you would do tho wouldnt you? Add imperialist and you would be right there alongside putin.
8
You need liberating from orban
7
@IsaiahYoung-mu1zh Benefiited them so much that they voted him out in 2020.
7
Putin shouldnt poke the ukranian bear just like he shouldnt poke the NATO one either.
7
@GCarty80 He is the total opposite. An isolationist. Tho he is fundamentally aligned with putin on nationalism and capitalism, including its corruption. Thats why they both support each other. Trump less openly at the moment. As he needs to be elected first.
7
I would like to see more cultural/sporting sanctions put on russia. It angered me to see russian flags being waved at last summers tour de frsnce in support of their riders despite them supposedly competing under no national flag. A ban on all russian sportsmen and women competing similar to what south africa had imposed on them to remove their apartheid system. As nothing hits home harder to a people than not being able to compete or being unable to watch your own sportspeople compete and be successful at international level.
7
@АртурФилиппов-ы9ц "I'm from Russia. And I want you to breathe". If "you" are from what a civilised russia would look like then you have my respect and condolences about your country at the moment. If "you" are from putins imperialist ruSSia tho then you will have none. As for breathing i can assure you that in the free world we can breathe and enjoy our lives just fine thenk you.
7
@gavinmckee9211 By protesting. If their popularity figures drop a lot then the threat of losing power will come into play even though its a long way to the next presidential election. Im not american but i assume you have congressional elections at some point before that.
7
@nathan859 If supporting democracy and international law is a small issue in american politics then american politics is in big trouble. Bye bye democracy and bye bye international law in a free world. No more "rockin in a free world" in the states in your eyes.
6
@friedrichjunzt Nah i think its more to do with his resolute stand against uncontrolled immigration after merkel invited all of africa to emigrate to germany. Without firstly considering how they were all going to get there. Or the ramifications like the sheer scale of the numbers that decided to come. As well as the numerous tragedies that occured in the med in them trying to get there. Orban is not the only far right leader/politician in europe that has benefitted from that merkel decision in recent times.
6
@mpgrenda You forgot to mention aid per gdp. US is 18th behind 16 european countries and canada. Estonia is top with 3.55% of its gdp. The US is using just 0.32% of its gdp. Most of it in military aid. To the OP its not about voting blue. Its about voting and supporting democracy wherever it is threatened. Democracy is above politics..
6
@Samuel-hd3cp What neutrality agreement was that then? I dont remember that being on the ballot paper in the peoples 1991 independance vote. Of which 93% voted in favour of being independant from russia. In which all of the oblasts and regions voted in favour including crimea and the dombass.
6
Free palestine........ from hamas
6
@fefferryerr1818 Irrelevent. You commented that it was moving because it was scripted by the best. Discrediting the speaker and his moving message.
5
@stevensutton2252 Since when have scott ritter and alex jones been far left? Try some reverse thinking and include some conspiracy bollox and youd be nearer the mark.
5
@VikingTeddy "To sit in a safe home, in your safe country, accusing war refugees of 'hiding" is rhetoric I expect from Russia." I suspect, like me and many others, there is a frustration in jake that personally we can not do anything about all of this. Whereas these individuals have every opportunity both morally and physically to participate. Also western values include freedom of speech so therefore the freedom to criticise the behaviour of others. Whether they be justified or not..
5
@lomborg4876 Reagan was pro democracy tho and would have stood side by side with ukraine as any true democrast would. Whetrher it be a political left leaning democrat or a traditional conservative republican like reagan was. There is now an element to the far right. Nationalists i would call them. That i would argue are trying to move the GOP away from its traditional pro democracy/libertarian/conservative roots much further to the right. Seemingly aligning itself with other far right nationalists like orban, modi etc all in support of putin and his militant nationalism in russia..
5
@FrostiesTanks Hes definately got dementia and its only going to get worse. Its not just "old age" Its sad that some people are using a guy who has a serious medical condition for political purposes. He needs to be cared for now. Not scrutinised and pressured in this way.
5
@seanlander9321 Only so many pilots to train i would guess. I doubt ukraine had a large air force when this all kicked off.
5
@ptbelttactics In other words mind your own business and let us supposed conservative americans become one nation nationalists just like in putinopia.
5
@Gladius Pax Didnt lose in afghanistan as it was part of the 20 year war on terror. No major terror attacks on the west since afghanistan means that the war on terror has been won. Obama said it would take 20 years to win it.
4
@speurtighearnamacterik8230 What your saying then is that religion comes before humanity. No thank you.
4
@IgorFranknstn27 The reason ukraine became an independant state is because 92% of their population voted for it in their independance referendum of 1991. All of the oblasts voted in favour including donbas and crimea. They were officially recognised worldwide as an independant sovereign state, including by russia.
4
@DarkaDusty I thought that at first but then why did trumps 112 odd magas vote nay in the congress vote?
4
@Juan_lauda Yep. I checked their YT channel recently and couldnt find a single news video on the war in ukraine. Only interested in US internal stuff. Typical nationalist selfishness.
4
@rogerwilco5918 Just as many conservatives have died defending freedom and democracy as liberals. The far right and far left however.
4
@hyperkaioken4982 The first info out from poland was "russian built missile kills 2 in poland". On a night when his country had a 100 or so russian built "war crime" missiles raining down on his people i think he was justified and correct to to say what he did at that time as he didnt have the full info. Same as most western media were speculating article 5 stuff at that same time. Also as you keep insisting on this i doubt very much you support ukraine at all and your just another putin troll.
4
Removal of tucker carlson at the same time a co incidence? A general policy shift in the GOP. It does mean that they have to agree with the democrats on the issue. Something both sides hate having to do. Anyways glad to see some strong conservative moral principles on show for a change. Instead of nationalist political grandstanding.
4
@steve470 The major problem looking in from the outside from here in the uk is your lack of electoral choice. Only 2 parties to represent so many political variants. All the extremes, whether to the far left or far right getting lumped into one party or the other is just asking for trouble. Now you have one of those extreme groups literally taking over one of the parties. The problem then with extremes is historically they tend to not respect democracy and all of its associated freedoms. Here in the uk we have loads of parties and the extreme ones the people can just ignore them come election time.
4
@nathan859 Thats true and a fair point but thats why the rest of the democratic world support ukraine and international law. The US is not alone here. The rest dont contribute as much as they are not the economic powerhouse that the US is. Many other countries are contributing far more per gdp than the US is. The baltic states for example. EU as a whole contributes more than the states, tho theirs is more economical whereas the US is more through military aid of which the US has a vastly superior budget to any other country in the world. People like you need to remember who came, fought and died alongside you in iraq and elsewhere in the 20 year "war on terror" after 9/11. Those same people from the left, centre and right of politics in the free western world that all now support ukraine and its fight for its independance, democracy and freedom. Also unlike the "war on terror" there are no american lives to be lost here. Surely that is something much more dear to any american than donating part of its military budget in aiding a fellow civilised democratic ally.
3
@nathan859 "We have a lot of domestic problems in the USA that are probably more important to the USA than the Ukraine war". There is a worldwide recession you know. Everyone is suffering. Recession brought on by a worldwide pandemic and imperialism returning to europe again. 80 years after hitler did the same and 60 odd million ended up dying worldwide. We in the UK have loads of domestic issues too of which are being fought out politically, extremely bitterly, but on ukraine everyone is on the same page. Whats the problem in the states?
3
@khiem1939 True, here in the uk all parties support ukraine. Some on the left are more palestine backing regarding israel. Dont make them nutters tho. The US is different as it has only 2 parties so all the political extremes all get lumped into one party or the other. So you get a right old mixture in the dems or the gop.
3
@Cosmic_Code Dont forget that russia was a democracy just like ukraine at one time too until putin appeared on the scene
3
@RootzRockBand Americans voted him in. The logic and reasoning is strong with this one.
3
Per GDP the US is 18th behind 16 european countries and canada in providing aid to ukraine. Estonia is top with 3.25%. The US is giving 0.3% of GDP. Most of it being military aid as they are the military powerhouse in the west. The EU now outstrips the US in overall aid for ukraine..
3
@richardk5246 Like trump, musk and all the other super rich that support him. Plus all the oligarch billionaires that support billionaire putin. Clever in manipulating economics but so simple in mind and heart as in actually believing that authoritarianism is civilised behaviour.
3
You just talking like the Zombie that you are,,,,, From a conservative voter
3
@GusWallacePHd "Vote under gunpoint" as in many ukranian citizens from those regions fled under gunpoint. In other words fleeing the violence. Why didnt they get a vote too? Where is shaktar donetz football club based now for example. Near lviv. Any Independance referendum has to have the host nation and all of its residents involved. In peaceful circumstances so both sides can make their case. None of this happened in any of the examples you gave. Plus putin has annexed all the territory now so he never intended for those regions to have a say on their independance anyway. Hes not interested in them. He wants all of ukraine. He could have just recognised those 2 regions, which he did in 2022 pre his special military disaster, and then sent his military in to control the disputed border. Ukraine and its allies wouldnt have responded militarily to it and this war would never have started. But no, putin wanted all of ukraine instead. Hes a full on militant imperialist right up there with hitler, mussolini and tojo. Shame on your types for supporting him. As for propaganda you need to understand what propaganda is first. Its state funded in putinopia to the tune of 1.5 billion usd a year. Its one view only or else. Thats propaganda. Western media has numerous media outlets from the left, right and centre political viewpoints. So there is checks and balances for the people to decide and act for themselves on the truth. Thats not propaganda.
3
@GCarty80 Thats part of it. Its more about democracy and the supporting of it for me. Nationalism is on the rise worldwide and thats a big threat to democracy and all the freedoms associated with it. With fascism the next step to the right from nationalism which putin has now achieved in russia. We brits like to think we invented democracy with our parliament being the "mother of parliaments" but ancient greece would correctly differ. A strong reason for people supporting brexit was due to the undemocratic principles of the EU with its unelected commissioners making policies.
