@IgorFranknstn27 The reason ukraine became an independant state is because 92% of their population voted for it in their independance referendum of 1991. All of the oblasts voted in favour including donbas and crimea. They were officially recognised worldwide as an independant sovereign state, including by russia.

You should tell them to stop supporting an ideology that hundreds of thousands of their forefathers died fighting in WW2. Ask them do they support democracy and all the freedoms associated with it or not? If yes then why dont they want the ukranian people to have those same freedoms? Then if still spouting same bollox i usually accuse em of being the cold hearted selfish nationalists that they are as you will probably never convince them otherwise. The far right are everywhere unfortunately not just in the states.

Putin started it in 1999 when he came into power. He never recognised the 1991 independance vote. He has been interfering in ukraine with his political puppet yanukovych well before 2004 until the orange revolution and then maidan in 2014 thwarted him. 2014 until 24th feb it was military/proxy but now its a full on fascist imperialistic invasion. Initially a 3 day regime change, apparently yanukovych was in belorus ready to step in, but now a full blown war kind of special military operation.

@razorrabbit2789 The majority of germans did with hitler too. Just shows the power propaganda can wield. "Freedom of speech" is something we cherish in the west but putin has been utilising it with RT etc over the last 20 years or so to promote his narrative worldwide with anti western, anti democratic bollox. Thats why you see so many now denograting western and democratic culture everywhere.

It was done at night to try and avoid civilian casualties. Also its a strategic target as weapons cross it to kill ukranians.

Yep ive seen that term before taken from tass written russian state propaganda. The "greater russians" and the "little russians" of ukraine along with the belorussians joining together again to form the "greater russian world" that will rival the west once more just like putins beloved ussr used too..
