  2.  @billyrio3767  1991 referendum of independance. 92% voted in favour. All the oblasts voted in favour. All the worlds nations recognising them as an independant sovereign nation. Including russia. Multiple democratic elections since including 2 since 2014.

  3. Far right/nationalists would regard ukraine as not being important as far right/nationalists generally are only interested in their own country. Not defending democracy, wherever it may be, is also a far right/nationalist sentiment especially if one of the combatants is a nationalist state themselves.More moderate conservatives tho would defend their homeland and the democracatic principle at the same time wherever it may be. We have conservative and left wing political solidarity on ukraine here in the UK..Albeit far right/left groups/parties can be marginalised here in a multi party system whereas in the states everybody gets lumped into a 2 party democracy.

  5. Since when has it been a "stupid" conflict for a people to defend its country, culture, democracy and its freedom? Was it stupid for the allies to fight against imperial fascism the last time it reared its ugly head in europe 80 odd years ago. 56 million died worldwide then. Also it aint the US military involved fighting and dying here..Its ukranians that are. Only one country is having its people killed and cities, towns and villages flattened.

  7. Its what nationalism does if its allowed too by the people. Strong leaders plus nationalism leads eventually to dictators and fascism. Constitution changes, state funded propaganda and eduication along the way. The people, controlling who governs them, ending up being controlled themselves. Its happened in russia. Watch out india and hungary. Maybe even the so called bastion of democracy and freedom, the mighty USA, if the moderate majority allow it..
