Nationalism has a big pull, not just in the states either. Thats what putins media RTetc has been promoting worldwide these last 20 years. As well as discrediting democracy and all its freedoms. They are nationalists posing as conservatives to gain access to power as all political extremists try to achieve.

@krazytroutcatcher As you seem to base everything on history. Then heres some for you. In 1991, 92% ukranians voted to leave a union with russia to become an independant sovereign state. Like many other former soviet eastern bloc countries did. All the oblasts voted in favour including crimea and donbas. All the countries of the world recognising them , including russia. History is forever changing, just like we are witnessing now, with imperial fascism raising its ugly head in europa again. 80 years after a similar dictator and ideology caused a world war with 50 million lives lost worldwide. We need to learn from history not use it for justification.
