Isnt there a way for a presidential nominee to be replaced for health issues? Guys obviously got dementia and knowing dementia, that my late father suffered from, its only going to get worse. He needs help and to be cared for now, not scrutinised and pressured like this. Its so wrong and extremely sad with it. Dementia is a serious health issue not just "old age".

The UN descibes it differently to that. They say that the clashes between federalists and pro unity supporters began when 300 federalists attacked a march of about 2000 pro unity/pro maidan in the city centre. The number bolstered by visiting football fans who had a game in the afternoon. The clashes went on for several hours with stones and molotovs to begin with followed by shots from both sides. Eight people were killed by shooting. 2 pro maidan and 6 anti maidan.The police did nothing or took sides. So anarchy reigned and with their superior numbers the pro maidans eventually forced the federalists/anti maidan to scatter. Some went through the tent city which got destroyed by their pursuers. Some then went into the trades union building and barricaded the entrance. Molotovs were exchanged from both sides causing the fire from which 40 people died. Some were helped from the building to escape the fire but were heavily bearen by their opponents outside. The UN is critical of the ukraine authorities for being slow in bringing charges against the perpetrators and being biased in favour of the pro maidan supporters. The police and fire authorities actions on the day were also investigated with many people charged. Many fleeing the country apparently. The investigation is still ongoing.

@katstorm13 Yep the far right svoboda party got 2% of the national election vote with no mp elected. The former leader of the previously independant azov paramilitary group stood as an independant in the election and failed miserably. Zelenskys party is centrist and poroshenko,s is to the left i believe.

@Timzart7 They did have paramilitary groups who they then banned. Not surprising tbh seeing their toil and suffering during WW2 with the nazis.

The far right got 2% at their last national election down from 4% with no mp elected. The former leader of the former independant azov paramilitary unit stood as well and suffered a miserable defeat with very few votes. Zelenskys party is centrist and poroshenkos is to the left.
