Well i have read that there maybe other jihadist groups in gaza. They may be the ones firing the rockets indiscriminately at israeli towns and cities. Causing the retaliatory strikes from israel causing retaliatory rockets from gaza. A never ending cycle of violence it seems. Apparently in the past egypt asked hamas to stop the rockets and hamas sent their people to stop those groups firing. After a period of peace from both sides it was rescinded and the rockets resumed. If this is true and there is other jihadist groups involved then that might explain some of the barbarism that occured on those civilians in israel. I also read that gaza and the west bank are both run by seperate entities that hate each other. With a president in overall control trying to impose his authority somehow on palestine as a whole. There also hasnt been an election in either the west bank or gaza since hamas defeated fatah in 2006. So hamas is running gaza and fatah is runnin the west bank and they both hate each other. Hamas not recognising israels right to exist was also mentioned in that it has hurt the gaza residents overall quality of life over the last 17 years. Also interesting that the US and the EU apparently are/were two of the biggest contributors of aid to gaza and therefore hamas.. .
