@fa0806 What nukes is that then? Have you ever thought that natos existence wouldnt even be necessary if putins russia became more civilised and friendly towards its neighbours.

@duncansmith7562 Yep and in 1991, 92% in ukraine voted to leave it. All the oblasts/regions voting in favour, including crimea and the donbas. Then officially recognised as a sovereign state by the worlds nations including russia. Others in russia, including putin, never recognised that indeprndance referendum result. Hence the mess we have now.

@duncansmith7562 My point is if russia has a right to have a nuclear deterrent. Then why not ukraine? Because thats what it is. A deterrent. What right has one sovereign country have over another sovereign country to decide what it can and cannot use to protect its own people.

@duncansmith7562 Ukraine and georgia were in the process of joining nato back in 2008 but their admission was blocked by france and germany as at the time they wanted a more friendly/economic relationship with putin. Putin didnt want them in nato so they obliged. It was then scrapped completely in ukraine by putin puppet yanukovych when he was elected. It hasnt been a credible option since due to this putin inflicted conflict

@davidaponte7521 NATO bombed the shit out of serbia to bring an end to the ethnic cleansing and bring milosevic, the hague convicted war criminal, to the negotiating table. Libya, iraq and afghanistan was the 20 year "war on terror" after sunni islamic fundamentalist groups declared a terror war on western civilisation after 9/11. The west duly obliged and won the war as no major terror attacks on the west since afghan. No different to what putin did to the chechnyan rebels after beslan and other terror attacks on his people. Though he was far more ruthless in achieving it. Why shouldnt ukraine and georgia be allowed in nato? Like all the other ex soviet states. Putins imperialist actions prove its absolutely a necessity. As for the nazi ethnic cleansing slur that is used by putin propaganda to justify the invasion. How come the UN monitors present in those 8 years never noticed any genocide occuring. Putin could have taken his evidence to the UN. He didnt tho. I wonder why? I bet he was broadcasting it daily as propaganda to his people tho.

How come putin never raised this nazi style ethnic cleansing during those 8 years to the UN. I dont judge a people on its national heroes from a long gone era. I judge them on their actuel behaviour today. Like if they invade peaceful neighbours for no good reason. Or if its military committs enough war crimes for them to be suspended from the UN human rights council. 56 million died worldwide the last time militant nationalism reared its ugly head in europe. A lot of them russians. Now they have become the very ideology they died fighting. Shame on you for being part of it.
