@mattroberts86 What about the fact that he killed 250/000 of his own people and allowed al queda a presence in his country after 9/11. The real reason for the invasion of iraq. IF 9/11 hadnt happened then there would have been no invasion. All recent wars fought by the west have been about combatting the rise of islamic fundamentalism after 9/11. Iraq was no different. Thats why i supported it at the time and still do. It was the aftermath that became the tragedy. Rumsfeld disbandoning the iraq army and police started it. The coalition went from being liberators to occupiers and the insurgencies began. Islamic state was created by some of the ex iraq army and al queda. Rest is history. Should have just done what the state dept had planned and replaced saddam with a more western friendly, less evil leader. It was ultimately bush,s decision to let rumsfeld decide on the aftermath.
