  1. Always let the vehicle idle and warm up before driving off. It lets the engine get up to temperature, and the tolerances are correct. Do not forget, modern engines are highly engineered to specific tolerances and operating temperatures. If you start a car up and rev the snot out of it, that engine will not last very long. Remember the engines of the 70's, no inline boring, just assembled together and they did not last beyond 100K miles and rattled like hell. The US moved away from manufacturing Economy to service based goods and services. They will not come back. All the high tech stuff is made in China. Look at vehicle manufacturing - China is years beyond the US. Most of the factory parts in US vehicles' are made in China. It sounds good having stuff American made, but its not going to happen, labour is too expensive by a factor of 20. China is moving to a service based economy and manufacturing is now moving to Vietnam and India.
