It is true, people are really suffering. Powell is trying to get ahead of the curve, something shook them up. I reckon December retail sales will hit the floor and THAT is what has spooked the FED. The property prices still lag a few years behind the pain. The pain for the economy is NOW and property prices will crash and hit their lows in a couple of years. The FED pivot is unexpected, the data they have must have shocked Powell.. When QT occurs, it triggers a recession, the only thing is they cannot predict how deep it is going to be. For the FED to suddenly make this change means its hit them hard and they need to act NOW.
