  1. I dont where you get your ideas from. But the US IMPORTS more crude and refined products than it exports. It buys these products on the open market, and pays market prices. For Gas, Brent or Texas light oil are the best for refining. Not the heavy Sulphurous crude the US pulls out of the ground.

  2. Its not that. Russia have a lot of Hypersonic missiles, they may be after the US newest and most expensive carrier. These weaposn are very expensive and only used on large assets. As RJ says, there are darker forces at work here. Who is going to protect the straits of Hormuz if all the allied assets are sailing to the Eastern Med? All it needs is a couple of Iranian attack boats to sink a couple of tankers and crude prices will sky rocket.

  8. Well as Putin says, they have hypersonic missiles in the Black Sea in case the Gerald Ford gets too close or tries any nonsense. The Russians also have air bases in Syria. Not forgetting Saudi Arabia, and Iran signed a Chinese led peace deal last year. Also Saudi have a lot of F-18;s and patriot missiles they can give to China to make copies. In the short term, they could redeploy them to Iran or Syria. But the greatest weapon they have is just to drop crude production drastically. It should not ne lost on you that this kicks off just as the Northern hemisphere is going into Winter.

IF the US WAS energy independent, then it wouldn't matter what the price of crude is - the prices would be the same if its $50 barrel or $200 \barrel. The US GOVT does NOT produce oil, it NEVER has - so it CANNOT be independent. The US Govt sells oil licenses to OIL COM{PANIES, and THEY pull the oil out of the ground and sell it on the open market. The prices on the OPEN MARKET are controlled by the OPEC+ cartel. It is no surprise you are a Trump supporter, when the 2016 Election took place, the whole World learned that the US had 80 Million imbeciles in the country and they voted for another imbecile.
