Reading Clay Blairs excellent books on the Atlantic U-Boat war: Hitler's U-Boat War: The Hunters and the Hunted. When the U-boats were depth charged or sunk, all that was found were small parts of bodies a 3" X 3" section of lung or intestine. When the pressure vessel implodes it is just that an implosion which rips bone and tissue apart. Unfortunately Holywood always gets it wrong. Not so morbid Scotty, it is how engineers learn from failure. It is just normal human curiosity. You analysis is fag packet, generally it seems as though the failure did occur at that section, and bot ends of the titanium domes would be violently expelled away from each other. Given the layout of the debris field, it should be able to reconstruct the event and play it back and forth. The sections had a few hundred metres fall to settle on to the seabed. Failure is one analytical tool. Musk uses it the iteration process on failure, try it, and then see what made it fail. It is a quick way to discover weak spots. Unfortunately for Musk, the FAA does not operate that way. If Boeing had any competence or soul they would have grounded the Max-8 flights after the first crash. Instead they let another crash happen before the FAA grounded them...Boeing would still have flown that aircraft if it was up to them, they wanted to blame pilot error. The FAA shut that down right away.
