  3. ​ @jmhorange  Hamas effectively rules Palestine, it is the government. If Isreali government has achieved peace for 16 years by funding it, it proves that it did achieve peace, even if only by appeasement, which always fails at some point. Hamas, terrorist group/gov, achieved peace by taking the funding, but rather than spending it on infrastructure, invested in weapons & ended the peace with an act of war. Netanyahu, having tried peace via payment (as you describe), will doubtless achieve peace- after a lot of horrific violence.

  4. Netanyahu faces prison in Israel (bribery, fraud, corruption), and has nothing to lose- he'll either be a hero, or go out in a blaze. His behavior indicates that he has a deal with something equal to or greater than US, or that Israel just doesnt need US anymore.
